I also have a multicam poncho liner that I threw over the top to help insulate in colder weather. Works pretty good!
Thanks! I love multicam

I recently purchased a Dangerbird from the Smurfs and I absolutely love it! Problem was, I made a mistake on which side I needed the extra zippers on the overcover plus I wanted the foot side on the...
Could this be done with the overcover on the outside instead of the inside? My thinking is that there are times (especially with the rapid changes of weather here lately) that I'd like to leave the...
Same here, I was saving for another Dangerbird but gonna have to give this one a try.
Well, I've finally found the time to sit down and type out my review of my recent purchase from Dream Hammocks. I took the grand kids hangin this last weekend and finally got to enjoy my new...
Ok, first I was replying about the use of a pad instead of an underquilt. I didn't go thru my entire set up as I was referencing to the fact I didn't get CBS when using the pad at those temps. I also...
Honest to God, I don't know how they do it. I know they're burning the candle at both ends trying to keep up on orders, answering emails etc. Then they take the time to not only post pictures of the...
Hey, That's my hammock in the video! Number 2302! Just spent the nite in it last nite. I can't begin to tell you just how awesome this hammock is. The quality and comfort are unreal. I'm taking it on...
The suspension system is no longer a rope. If you watch the entire video, Tony shows the new suspension system which is quick and easy to set up. As for the rainfly coverage, I've had mine set up for...
I'm 2302! Gettin ansy!
I've been looking for a camo rainfly with doors. I've come down to either the JRB Universal in Woodland camo or the UGQ Winter multicam Dream tarp. I like the fact that the JRB pretty much comes with...
Awesome! You'll need to get some pics posted,
Mine was tested down to -7* with a wind chill of -25*. Warm once I got in and stayed warm the entire time, but I only wear t-shirt and sweat pants in my hammock and getting in and out I froze my butt...
Yeah, I definitely want the full coverage rainfly, it's a money thing right now. Not getting overtime anymore.
Same weekend as my wife's birthday. I do appreciate the invite tho
Ok, the Sky Bed has the pad pocket, but I see it doesn't have the pockets next to the pad pocket to put extra stuff in like jackets etc to help with warmth like the Pak-It-Lite hammocks do.
Crawdaddy, are you using a pad?

Thanks Stevie! The reason I want to try it in Bivi mode is in case I need to go to the ground, It'll still give me a bug net that way. By the way, How cold does it get where you live?
Tony, the large didn't want to fit very well, I'm not sure why unless it's because of mine being custom. But, the regular size Ridgerest fits great, works great and also fits in my ruckpack perfect...
Check out the Klymit insulated Static V. I used it in my hammock until I switched to the Ridgerest. I really like it but the Ridgerest just proved to be warmer in the hammock when it got in the...
Ok, first, all of my testing is done in my yard. I work 2nd shift and after I eat my supper I usually get in for about 3 hours each night. My wife thinks hammocks are stupid so I sneak these "naps"...
It was 34* Fahrenheit, inside after 2 hours
Interesting, I'm learning a lot here. No, I'm not a backpacker, more of a survivalist/prepper I guess. My backpacking distances are going to be determined on how far the grand kids can go so I've...
Wasn't thinking about the comfort thing I guess. Thought everyone was using them for insulation. Like I said, not slamming on anyone, just an observance.
I can understand using a UQ if you have no way of using a pad, but for the money, in my experience, a pad's more cost effective and works just as good if not better than most of the UQ's out there....
Not sure what a "balance issue" is. Mine works fine.
Stevie, did you get the complete system? Did you get the extra window? Did ya tell Tony I sent ya? Let me know when you get it, I'm really glad for you!
Awsome! Which one did you get?
Welcome from Columbia City! Where are you located?
Mine was the first so basically Tony had to kinda redesign the hammock for the window. He didn't have a pattern for it. The price ended up being a little cheaper than what he first quoted me (that's...
Well, I had a stupid urge and decided to go with it. Been wondering how cold I could go. I spent 3 hours in it the other nite at -7* with a wind chill of 25* below zero. This is the coldest I've gone...

Welcome from Columbia City!
Welcome from Columbia City, just west of Ft. Wayne!
Last nite was the coldest it's gotten here so far. I've been testing (sneaking) with short naps every nite. Last nite I slept for 3 hours, it was 9* with wind and the "feels like" was -7*. I've been...

UPDATE 1/2/15: We will soon begin production of an Ultra Lite version of the F.O.B, ReconMN, Scout and Lightfoot Scout hammocks. These hammocks with still offer...
I posted several in the beginning of the thread
May I suggest the Solar Ridgerest Regular for your pad. They fit perfect and I've been down to 16* with no issues with mine.
Coldest yet for my testing, 16* with 6 mph wind. Still 50* inside my hammock.
I hadn't planned on doing any winter hanging either, and yet.........................can't seem to find a reason to take it down. I find myself taking naps in it every night lol.
Which one did you get?
Well, the regular Ridgerest fits perfect and works pretty good also. So far the coldest it's got has been 23*, but I still stayed plenty warm. It also seems to help the lie for some reason, it...
Well, I found out the large Ridgerest won't work. It ends up being just a little too long. The place I bought it from let me bring it back and I got the regular one instead and it fits perfect. Gonna...
Zawedx, I've got a couple of questions for you. Are you able to take some pics of your hammock hanging and post them? Maybe one with you in it also? Are you using the Pak-it-Lite suspension or...
Does my 5 year old grand daughter count? lol
