Aside from the fact that this is a very serious subject (we're all glad to here you are ok Wabbajack), but that is hilarious!
I'm guessing he had no choice. He did say that he lost his job.
Typically hospitals hook you up to an IV when you are in a coma so that the food issue is not really a problem. The falling 80 feet without dieing is the part that gets me. Perhaps he meant to...
Greetings. There is a whole lot to see here, so take your time and ENJOY! Hope to see you at the Second Annual Florida Hang. You can learn a TON just from joining us there.
Just ordered mine. Can't wait to get my hands on it! Thanks for putting this together Dejoha. Somebody needed to do it, might as well be one of our own here at hf. Of course, I couldn't imagine...
I have a HH and an ENO DN, and I feel the same way. I use the HH for camping because of the bug net and the foot box, and I use the ENO in the yard or in a park, or just about wherever I can find...
Just placed an order. Can't wait to try out the new gear! Keep up the good work Dutch. I'm always excited to see what you come out with next. Your Tarp Flyz, Dutch Hooks, and Dutch Clips are all...
Here is a nifty product sold by Jacks R Better designed specifically to answer that question:

I'm going to try to make it out for this trip. Sounds like a good time, and a good primer to get ready for the Second Annual Florida Hang.
PM has been sent.
Not familiar with trails in Golden, but I am pretty sure that Golden Colorado is home to the Coors Brewery, so perhaps after hitting up some trails you could go to a brewery tour to finish off your...
I just love your videos Shug! They just make me want to go out and enjoy the piney woods soooooo bad! Hopefully soon my schedule will clear up a bit, combined (hopefully) with some incoming cool...

I can't wait for this hang again! In order to prepare for this year, I plan on purchasing a warm down feathery top quilt so that I may be a bit better prepared for 25* weather, and I will also spend...
Congratulations!!!
I will absolutely take the gravity setup if SA doesn't take it off your hands.
What a GREAT time that hang was! All the food and camaraderie, and all the great gear to look at! I'm so glad I finally got to meet some of the people who's posts I have been reading over the past...
Heading up from Jupiter right now. Should be there in about 3 1/2 hours. Can't wait!!!!!
Just to add something else, if you are looking at using a thin line, and not making whoopies (they really work well and are very durable, I have used mine quite a bit with no problems and I am 300...
That seems like it should work just fine.
Sounds like a fun experiment to me. No better way to see if it works than to try it out for yourself.
Well... According to the myth, there can only be one Phoenix, and when it dies another one rises from the ashes. Soooo.... "technically" there is no such thing as a "plural" of Phoenix. Just...
This really is a great little light. I have used mine quite a bit. Very light and compact and comfortable. I would also buy it for a backup, unfortunately I don't quite have the money available...
I have not looked into any other methods of creating the fixed end other than by splicing, but I can imagine there are definitely other methods out there that would work.
As far as they bury, if...
I use "blunt needles" to splice amsteel. They seem to work well. I had much better luck with them than the guitar wire I tried to use the first time. Some of the videos I watched on Youtube made...
That is definitely another good point!
It helps to cut about half of the strands that make up the amsteel about an inch or two from the end of the line you are about to use to splice through. It reduces the diameter of the beginning part...
Sounds like it was a good time. It's great that you share an interest with your children, and get to enjoy it along with them. Maybe someday I'll have a couple of my own and get to have the same...
Tendertoe, I am a big fan of the color of your tree straps. I graduated from the University of Florida, so I bleed Blue and Orange. I made my whoopie slings for my HH out of blue and orange...
Soooo, what everybody is REALLY trying to say is..... You will "obviously" have to buy all of the UQ's that you can afford! :D:D:D
HOWEVER, when purchasing your first UQ you really have to think...
Welcome to the site hikingbear. You will notice that this is an excellent on-line community that you will enjoy being a part of. You are already an experienced hanger, but you will probably be...
Just remember, when making whoopie slings for a Hennessy hammock, you need to leave at least a foot in between the end loop, and the tensioning splice so that you have enough line to properly connect...
I use the "questionable mental health cook kit" that Tinny makes. You can use it to cook in, but it is also just the right size for a cup-a-joe, and the fiberglass wicking on the outside lets you...
That would absolutely be the case as long as the hammock he is waiting on is not a Hennessy, otherwise you need that bit of extra length to allow for connecting the whoopie to the hammock.
Not sure if this will help you, or if they ship overseas, but this is the website that most people go to to order amsteel:

Good luck in your venture to find a hangin' buddy. Just one question... tell me you've seen the movie "Taking Woodstock?" Your situation seriously reminds me of a scene in that movie.
Thanks for the helpful info pig.slayer. I just ordered the 3-Season CN. Can't wait to see how much I like it. :)
Order #243
3-season 800fp crowsnest
Can't wait to get it!
Well... looks like I will be going with the 3-Season Crowsnest. With the ability to vent it it just seems like the more diverse option.
Thanks for the help everyone. :D And HAPPY...
That definitely seems to be what I am leaning towards. This was just the kind of input I was looking for to make sure I make an informed decision. Thanks Stairguy.
Thanks for the help pig.slayer. Just what I was looking for. I could certainly use all of the information I can get to make an informed decision, so if you could let me know how that goes tonight,...
O.K. So I was looking at the crowsnests. Due to this wonderful sale coming up on Friday, I definitely am going to have to purchase one. What I am having difficulty deciding is whether I should go...
Welcome to the forum Smarticle and Sunny's Trike! I am also another Florida native, and I will be attending the First Annual Florida Hang. You should both come and check it out. It will be a great...
I am not sure on their exact weight, but they weigh next to nothing as far as pack weight is concerned. They work wonderfully though for many different purposes and setups, and they are very simple...
You say "lifetime of my marriage" as if that would end before your actual lifetime. Your significant other must REALLLLLY not like you buying hammock gear.
Here is a thread that has the links to exactly what you are looking for:

Sounds just like me, except I started by making alcohol stove rather than wood burning stoves.
As far as the type of line to use for your suspension, paracord is not a great choice because it...
Thanks for posting the videos Beas. I would love to get a chance to hang in a barn like that. Looked like a lot of fun. I liked the music at the beginning of the second video... very appropriate...
I should be getting my MacCat Deluxe in the mail sometime in the next week. I plan on using it with my ENO Doublenest, and my Hennessy Explorer Deluxe, and hopefully in the future a WBBB 1.7 double...
