Indeed. We're thinking more cookies, Banana Pudding and I'm working on perfecting my Cinnamon, Caramel and Kettle Corn in larger batches for the popcorn freaks as myself. :)
Ahh, the Compactacliner..!? It's still under a little r&d.. ;)
Pleasure to meet you all this weekend. Good times were had. Thanks for the hospitality for my first group hang!
Lol! Noted. :)
...Maybe I should bring my rifle ear muffs...... *ponder*
The gf will be sending some homemade cookies Friday. :)
Roger that!
Looks like it'll just be me this time. I'll likely be heading there after work around 5. I'd be there around 8ish coming from Houston.
Myself + possibly 2 more
Which did you reserve in, Sarge? Post Oak, Cooks Ferry or Springfield?
We'd be coming up Friday evening
Also, are y'all reserving a campsite and would we need to get one as well?
I still plan on being there. May have a friend coming as well.
You could park your car at FS 511 and ride with someone up to Neches Bluff. Then it'd only be a 2mile hike out for ya. :)
Milage markers on this one.

The three hunter camps I passed last October were all empty & pretty much just a cleared grassy area.
Called Sabine National Forest. The lady who answered the phone was quite confused by my asking if there were any restrictions during doe season.. Bottom line, she thinks the trail is closed starting...

Your link says setons of the 4C Trail are closed---just not which ones. This wholetrail closure thing has gona all FUBAR wth the FS folks
Yes, the ones around Ratcliff Lake Rec area are...
So who knows of a State Park or Natural Area roughly half way between DFW and Houston that has a good trail system and allows primitive camping on the trail?
Or
One that has a good trail system...
Hey guys. Wondering how y'all prep the water from the trail for drinking or if you do. I currently don't have any type of filtration. I would just pack in water before. Any suggestion would be great!...
OK. I'll plan on marking the trail with glow sticks, but make sure you've got adequate lighting with fresh batteries for finding the trail. I've got enough to mark the .5...
It'll be late evening, after work. Likely, near dusk.
This sounds like a winner to me! Marking the calendar.. :)
