Western Mountaineering and Exped also make down booties!
Yep that's exactly what I'm about to do with my Costco down quilt!
So Tyvex seems to be the general consensus! Thanks! And I was more interested in a place to put my stuff/walk on in socks than going to ground!
What do you use as a ground cloth, ground tarp, or whatever you want to call it! Need ideas as I'm going on a longer trip than normal, and would like to have a little more space/area to sleep if I...
I recently picked up a costco down blanket from a generous member of this forum, and would love to make a summer underquilt with to to supplement my 3S KAQ. However, I am in college, and do not have...
Thanks, but I already got one from Ewker!
Anyone have a spare lying around? I'd love to make a lighter underquilt for the the summer, and Costco won't be carrying them for quite some time. Thanks!
So Dream hammocks are awesome and I want one. But I'm having a hard time narrowing down my options for the Thunderbird. I would love for it to replace my Dutchware with separate bugnet as my primary...
Yep you can close it.
Oh yeah I know about EE, just not too keen on the 2 month wait time... Especially since we're just now getting into prime backpacking season!
Interesting... When I spoke to Harry from HG about it, he told me that would do the trick! He also mentioned that they would slightly modify it to make it a true 30 quilt. They could be adding height...
Just ordered a Burrow 40 with 2 oz. of overfill to make it a 30 degree quilt! Super pumped!
Is this sale only for March? I've been saving up for a Hudson River, but can't purchase it till early April!
Ah good point! I'll definitely give them a closer look then!
Well it wouldn't be terrible, but I quite honestly don't see myself going down to 20 degrees ever! So why not save a couple ounces with a 30 degree quilt?
I assumed I was comparing apples to apples, because they're all real high quality vendors! But thanks for all this info, I think I'm a little closer to making a choice!
Hmmm great point! I will definitely do that!
Ah yes, I know about HG, but they don't have a 30° quilt like I'm looking for... :(
Yep you're right! It just didn't say it on the product page haha
I'm currently in the market for my first top quilt! I own a KAQ New River, which is good to 25°, so I'm looking for something to match that. I just sold 2 of my cheap synthetic sleeping bags, so I'm...
Oh I totally understand, and maybe next winter I'll take the plunge so it arrives just in time for spring! You guys rock!
Every time someone posts about a dream hammock, I literally start dreaming haha. These hammocks just look so cool! No one else makes anything like them! I really wish they could expand their business...
Ah thanks, but I'm under 6 feet so it would just be extra material that I don't need...
Anyone have a three season synthetic top quilt for sale? I'm willing to pay pretty close to the original price if in good condition. Thanks!
Yep it's a fantastic little tarp! It's my first one and I love it!
Where did you guys camp the first night? I'm heading there for the first time next Monday! Probably going to camp somewhere along 206 or 209 for the first night. Any recommendations?
EDIT: Haha...
Really?? Sweet! I was really afraid I would have to buy a whole new setup. Thanks Dutch!
I'm looking to replace my GT Double with a Dutchware hammock, but I don't want to have to buy a new rainfly and bugnet. That would be well out of my price range. Has anyone used the Yukon Outfitters...
Ah yes I think this is what I was thinking of! Thanks!
My current ridgeline is made of zing it and I use this 121101 method with two carabiners. I was thinking that it could be simpler and allow me to use the ridgeline more efficiently if I use soft...
Good stuff! I'm from Huntsville but go to school in Ohio, so I haven't had a chance to backpack in Alabama yet! Hopefully if this ridiculous weather holds out, I should be able to go over winter...
Any chance your KAQ will be on sale soon? :)
Unfortunately they are not, only 9' 4". I measured mine and was very disappointed. They say the 10' measurement is from carabiner to carabiner. Pretty dishonest if you ask me...
