For the war against breast cancer!
A Panasonic DMC-Z3 digital camera, North Face GTX hedgehog shoes, Swedish military trangia cookset and insulated pants.
Thank's for all the hard work Opie. Received my 400' today. Your measurement was right on.
No you didn't ruin it. Hang it up, let the ice melt and the water/down dry. Everything will be fine. You might have to give the quilt a little shake after it's dry.

Check out the down group buy. Ends November 30th.
Welcome aboard canoeski!
Guess I will have to get some more razor blades. :)
Have you tried a UCR version? Less Line and weight. I'm not sure how long it would last though.
Almost geared for winter. I'll have to see what Santa brings me. Otherwise a spring hang would be great.
Payment sent! Thank you!!!!
What made you stop this line of thinking? Looks like it would be a great attachment point/loop for an underquilt or tarp.
The tubular will work just fine. You will get some stretch overnight. I used this type of webbing for a few months and it worked really well. When you get more time swap it out with some 1" polyester...
No rush! Thank's again Opie for doing this. :D
Opie- Please bump my green from 200' to 400'. Thank's for doing all the work! :) :)
I'll take 200' of green please.
I'd take 200' maybe more depending on the price.
Yeah! What the heck? I'd take one of each....
You won't regret your decision! 1.1 dbl is one heck of a hammock!
I'm interested as you know! Pertex is used in sleeping bags, windshirts, Jackets, etc. If you look at some of your gear you might have something that is made of Pertex and not realize it. My Marmot...
Sent pm for blackbird
Shug- Did you use velcro or anything to keep your UQ's together at the joining point? I thought I read that on the forum somewhere. If you did use velcro. How is it working/ holding up?
That's right, Shug did do that. He used velcro if I remember correctly.
I've been thinking along the same lines! I'm thinking if you sew a rectangular pad from some scrap ripstop and climashield. Add a few snaps to the corners of the rectangle pad(to match the snaps on...
Sounds like your tensions aren't set right.
You can start here and then watch the rest or ramblinrevs videos.

I use my old solo tents footprint.
So far I haven't had any problems hanging is the state parks. In fact 2 rangers asked if they could check out my setup! Devils lake, buckhorn or mirror sound good to me. All three of these parks are...
Myke- What do you mean by "When will this end". I'm not familiar with this term. To be honest that statement is kinda scary. :):):)
As long as I don't have to work you can count me in. Sounds like a good time!
Paul you should see a order coming from me within a few days for some items. Any idea when you are going to get carabiners in?
Well then.... The best place that I could find it is here.:) :)

DIY kick *** quilt instructions.
I made a little folding 2 pocket spe. Both pockets are the size of the back of my pack. Unfold and enjoy!
Ramblinrev- I think he was going for better organization of his UQ and tarp. I should have asked about that instead of "did it work". I could be completely wrong about that though. Hopefully he will...
Thijzzz- Did this work?
Jofish- Looks great! Much better than my first quilt! Sounds like it's really warm too.
Alright more down! Thanks again cannibal!!!!!:)
Where is the pic of the lawnmower blade?
Agfadoc great pics! Glad everything went well. What would you consider a light stove? 1/2 pound, 1 pound, fuel included? Are you hiking, canoeing, or just semi/car camping?
I'm not sure what type of machine "basic" means. I own two machines. 1 singer and a brother. Both machines handle velcro very well. I have found using a 100/16 schmetz sewing needle and a 3.5 stitch...
Javaman- Looks like I have to work this weekend but I'll Try real hard to get you the info and pic's asap.
Try static guard spray. I spray some on my ripstop fabric before I start any DIY project. Keeps everything from sticking together. The only down side to the spray is the smell.
This last weekend I started making some adjustments to my KAQ to take care of the CBS. I'll post the pic's if I get around to it this weekend.
At the tie out points I cut the grossgrain @ the...
My KAQ seems to snug up against the hammock really well. I did modify the length of mine however. I shortened the length by 10". 5" off each end.
You could try starting with the KAQ pattern and just modify it to fit your needs.
You might want to check into Dyneema. I'm not sure if this would be the right type of fabric for a hammock but I'm sure someone here will chime in if it's not. Pricey stuff/ it will hold the weight...
