if i were you to give the tarp a little more longevity i would invest in a set of snake skins and pull them closed when its not being used.. then again that would leave your hammock exposed. so maybe...

i use amsteel 7/64 for my ridge line, and its generally tight as a guitar string since i like to keep as close to my tarp as possible without hitting it. but its a bit stronger than zingit i believe....
did you happen to find some that was coated? i been keeping an eye out, but not much luck. i have found some pu coated + dwr digicam 1.9 im really eyeballing for a tarp, then again i already started...
i just leave them on the ground under the hammock, i wear slip on's mostly, but i do make sure to jam my feet in them fast and wiggle them around to make sure i get any spiders before they get me!...

hey i just made an underquilt that would match! lol we probably bought the fabric from the same seller!... now i want to make a matching hammock....and i need to learn to hem like that.

i havent had any issues at all with paracord stretching at all. but i also dont use actual paracord i use the $1.50 stuff from the camping section in walmart.
