Glad to have you Poppabear! Last year was my first winter hang and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of good conversation, food, and fun.....and hopefully snow!!
Sounds like "code" for something!!:lol::lol:
I'm bringing Whoopie pies and possibly Shoefly pie via pulksled. Also building a 15" reflector oven that I'll bring. Might be handy for MacEntyre's bread, bagels, and baking.
Snow will be the key. If there is enough I can set a coordinate on the compass and go for it.
I've never hiked that section so am not sure how it would go pulling a sled. From what I remember, it seemed fairly open. Maybe Doctari or someone who knows that area can chime in. I'm game to go for...
If I wanted to pull my pulk sled from Massie gap parking lot to the AT, how much trouble would I run into? It looks like its 3 miles to the shelter using that route. I'm hoping the snow will make it...
That's better. Thanks!
Can anyone plot for me where the Wise shelter is on a topo map. According to one source, its says that the shelter is at Latitude 36.6540027°N & Longitude -81.4984093°W. When I go to those...
An enormous tent. It has to be to handle a queen size air mattress, insulating rug, enough room for storage and changing clothes, an oil filled electric radiator, tons of other stuff, etc. Car...

Mentioned on another thread that ZQ says she'll make some whoopie pies for us!! I know, you're asking what that is. Good PA Dutch ones are the greatest. Addicting little round cake deals with filling...
I think the ponies might think twice about the visiting!! :lol:
I enjoyed my hot water bottle thrown into the hammock before I got in for the night. Warms ya right up after standing around jawing for awhile.
It's on the calendar for me. MacEntyre and I can have pulk sled races! BTW, Mule, same site you linked also has Kahtoolas that worked so well last year for me...good price too!
