The more the merrier!
I'm not physically able to haul all my gear so if there's a trailer to haul my junk I'd gladly take advantage of it!

I've been checking the cameras and there's snow on the ground and SMJerry was there before the...
Got my doors finished yesterday but now I'm debating if I should have added a few pieces of velcro to hold the edges (where the doors open) together a little. I'll be ring them untested..... I CANT...
I'm walking away when the pig brains in gravy come out...
A little last minute but wanted to put this out there for those interested in attending.
What: Oregon Bushcraft Winter Camp
Where: Horse Camp. 3 miles South of Gates Oregon and 36 miles from...
I have a camping event planned for Feb 20-22 and while it isn't a hammock specific trip it is hammock friendly (many of us will be hanging) is this appropriate to list in the regional thread for my...
The snow was basically all gone (from what I heard and saw on the cams) this afternoon but it's been snowing since 5 or 6 and is supposed to continue through tomorrow. Light rain for friday then 50's...
Snow forecast for Sunday Monday but not much after that. Rain and mid 40's for the Yeti weekend. Might need to bring my Radio Flyer and leave the pulk at home. Here's to hoping for a change in the...
Are there items we should bring to add to that?
I am packed and ready to go! I guess it's a little premature but it's been giving me good opportunity to shoot some vids on what I'm taking

I plan on...
18 days now? Whooo buddy!
Questions:
I'm "assuming" that tenters are welcome as well? Have a couple friends that want to attend but don't have UQs and are more prepared for ground operations.
Is...
I say GTSBP or Snugpak Jungle Hammock ($47 on Amazon). Both are great, no fuss, no muss.
Grand Trunk Skeeter Beater Pro. Rated at 400lbs, has bug net, but wouldn't be considered "light". Mine weighs a pound and a half with amsteel chain links and whoopie slings.
And, from past experience, how are the roads going up? I got my jet sled and my poles done, insulation is sorted, just need to get some snow boots and I'm ready to go!
Thanks for the info!
Where does one purchase a parking pass?
But its most likely operator error so no amount of technical knowledge of machine operation is going to fix ignorance. I have a list of videos for the OP to watch that should be enough for him to...
I own 3 singers and even the $79 Tradition requires adjusting of the bobbin as per the instructions which if you like I will post a link to the .PDF

there's money to be made with a tabletop thread injector :D

Think of all the fun you can have!

Adjusting bobbin tension is quite easy and necessary. If your fabric is being pulled down the tension isn't in balance. Ball needle will do the same thing. Don't start out with upholstery thread....
Spend whatever money you want on whatever you want. There is no wrong answer. My suggestion of the 4423 is based on its capabilities, not its cost. If it was $500 I still would have suggested it. ...
That has a pretty narrow throat. Again, 4423.
A Singer 4423 would be a good cheaper alterative. I've made triple layer hammocks, UQs, stitched leather, you name it. Paid $150 and have had 0 problems.
ENO has a 2-3 season UQ that will for your needs. It's $175 and has those clean lines you're talking about.
Is that insulation too or just "shelter"?
How much weight will you save with the CF?
Fortunately this setup will be pulled in a sled. But that's a great point.
I'm keeping the straps I cut off to wrap around a tree for pack and gear hanging. Thinking about maybe adding some side pullouts too. We'll see! Always modifying something ;)
Thanks! And I think its a great fly for the money!
So far so good. In the process of making some doors for it!
Dyck's sporting goods.
****'s has free shipping and 20% off right now. Just ordered a Jet Sled for $39.99 shipped to my door :)
There is a church organization in Dallas, Oregon that sells firewood for very cheap. Last time I got the equivalent of 10 bundles for $25. I'd be willing to bring a load if others are willing to pulk...
I just packed them all together to see if it could be done and to weigh it. And yes, there are 4 aluminum peg stakes in the rain fly bag. :)
There a $ limit for the White Elephant? Or just bring whatever you want?
Thanks for all the input guys! Here's a breakdown of my set-up with weights. I think after all the input I'm happy with the weight. I don't think trying to save every ounce on a winter set-up is...
thanks for the input guys!
The Tritan says "cold and 'warm' beverages, as opposed to hot. Wonder what their definition of warm is...
I'm looking for education, I guess. Is 4lbs excessive? Should I swap-out straps for whoopie slings? Would YOU carry a 4lb hammock/tarp set-up?
My total weight is 4lbs exactly. GT SBP, PahaQue HM20R double rain fly, stakes, straps, guy lines etc... Everything I need to setup minus insulation. Is this a good weight for winter?
I'd be a...
Uploaded a review on the PahaQue HM20R rain fly. Very happy with it and this is a great deal for $40. I modified mine a little and will also be making doors for it as well.
It weighs 30oz out of...
You can run a piece of paracord, tie it at one end, loop it through the other then tie it to itself using a prussic. Just make the knot so its above your chest so you can adjust it. Once you find the...

Whoa, those are cool!
Wow. Such service!
Awesome! Wish I was closer!
Great video! Looking forward to the next installment.
