I third Membrane 10. I've made two TQ'S with it, good stuff.

I prefer working with this material over ripstop. Sewing is about the same but Taffeta doesn't get caught on dry hands and wooden clothes pins like ripstop. What I really prefer is how it feels...

It took me around 12 hours to complete it. I've always stuffed the down in by hand, not this time I couldn't get my big mitts through the baffles. I bought a new shop vac to do the job.

It lofts to 2.5" at the center of the squares. I'm not really sure how low it will get me too. I'm hoping for mid to low 30's. This will be my late spring - early fall quilt.

Thanks Newheart, I've had it down to 30* and I was way to hot (sweating), I'm guessing it could get me down to 0*. I really liked working with Momentum 10 fabric. I will use it again.

I made one out of 5 oz climashield and 1 oz taffeta , works great and keeps my head warm.

Looks great and you have a good reason to be proud Dad.

Thanks Canahang, I was posting it to show the Membrane 10 taffeta. I was doubtful when stated making it but with all the resources on this site and You tube it went together easy.

I agree with IrishSitter, membrane 10 is easy to work with and excellent weight to strength ratio. I just finished my 1st down TQ with it and think it turned out fine....

Looks like a Great trip with one of the Finest motels you can find.

Like my Pops said, "its the journey that counts." Although the destination ought to be great as well. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

I know what you mean about it being addictive. I finished my 1st down Topquilt and immediately ordered the material's to make a matching UQ.

Just finished a Top quilt with Moroccan Blue outside and charcoal gray inside. The colors look great.

I just finished a Karo step TQ and ordered the materials to make a matching UQ. My question is with the differanal cut are Karo step baffles to complicated sew and how would one measure the opposing...

I use the reflective windshield shade also and if there is a dollar store in your area they usually carry them.

Surfing the Internet and came across this beauty, great job, looks very warm.

I made one with left over climashield and 1.1 ripstop with a shckcord strap hooked to my ridgeline. Easy to make and works great.

I made a Fronkey style tarp out of silpoly 2 from rsbr. I had it in a good rain storm, it worked great, no leaks.

Grouse Ridge area off of Bowman road, lots of lakes and trails. Bowman road is off Hyw 20 by I- 80.

Watched the video a few times, love the positive energy.

I made one out of 1.1 oz ripstop and 5 oz climashield left over from my UQ. I sewed
a18 inch peice of shockcord into one corner to tie to my RL. It works great.

I'm going to make a TQ black inside forest green outside with climashield 5.

Turning 50 and not wanting a sore back.
