Sorry about that, must have been looking at June LOL. My bad everyone. See yall friday afternoon.
Hey everyone,
Not sure if this has been answered already or not, but I notice the title says the date of the hang is may 2-4, but the 4th is only Friday. Does the hang start on Wednesday? Last...
Thanks Junebugdawn! Yes we have been very busy this past year, but never too busy to camp out and fellowship with our fellow hangers. Looking forward to it!
Ahh haha come on Gresh, you should remember me, I was the one who was at the hang last year. I think you actually spoke to Kyle on the phone.
Hey guys(and gals),
Just wanted to let yall know that Appalachian Hammock will be at the Smoked butt hang again this year, this time with both halves of the company. Kyle and I are both looking...
Here's hoping you get well soon brother.
For everyone that's procrastinating on their shopping this year, we've just put up some last minute Christmas deals on the site. All our main gear, including hammocks, tarps, and the new bugnet, is...
Hey Cazador, if you have any questions about anything don't hesitate to let us know. We're more than happy to help. In addition to the current hammocks/tarp we have, we're also excited to finally be...
I would agree with gmcttr, especially since you are using our 1500lb webbing.
The Big Sil weighs 15oz without guyline or stakes.
Thanks ShadowAlpha! Which one of our products do you like the best?
Hey Talox,(not sure if you wanted us to use your name lol)
Glad to hear your enjoying your Original AH Hammock. Wanted to let you know that your wife's DL Custom will be shipping out this...
I really question some of the info in that article, like where they claim that a child absorbs 60times the allowed amount of some chemical every night. Or when they claim to be safe your bed frame...
I agree with the above. 1'' works fine. I have never seen the bark compress from the weight of a hammocker.
If your really worried about the end channels, Go and pick up a roll of gutterman upholstery thread from joanns or similar. It was what I always used before we started having our hammocks made in PA....
If it's not cold out, ours usually just sleeps on the ground/leaves. In the winter, or mountain camping, we bring along a ccf pad, but if there are sufficient leaves/pinestraw around, I build her...
With winter coming up, you might want to check out our DL custom hammock. We rate them to 400lbs, for all the big hammockers out there lol.(I'm about 280)
When I first started hammock camping a few years ago, I started off with a $20 8x8 guide gear tarp. It worked fine for a light drizzle, but when a storm came through, everything not directly under...
I've washed my hammocks many times, sometimes for smell, sometimes just to soften them up a bit. On gathered end hammocks with removable ropes, I take them off and toss it in. With our current model...
All of our hammocks are 11' long. Allows for a much more comfortable lay, imo.
I make all our straps 9' long, with a 2.5'' eye. I would rather carry the extra few feet of strap on each trip then have to make due with a subpar hanging spot because my straps were too short.
Love the dog in the hammock. I always wanted to keep the pup in the hammock with me, but I'm afraid she would tear it. Perhaps we need to come up with a dog proof hammock.:D
This looks really cool. Did you have to buy special connectors for the poles, or do they just bolt to each other?
We started off using the whipped end method, but then decided to switch to the sewn end channel, for a few reasons.
1. It looks better
2. It packs up smaller without the whipping.
3. It is...
Where is Gresh at? He has a DIY hammock he calls the "Swamp Sling". I think he said it was around 10' wide.
Awesome looking rig. I've always wondered though, how does the bridge hammock sleep compared to a regular gathered end hammock?
Nice pic friend! Glad to hear you're enjoying your new hammock.

Appalachian Hammock
Check your Pm.
Update:
Apparently there was bit less then 100yds on the roll. The orders were rolled out according to your post in this thread. Think the roll ran out after Beast 71's 15yds.
Anyway, if your...
Hi everyone,

Sorry I really just meant that it's uncalendered. This is indeed a deeper, blaze orange type shade.
Fabric is ~64" wide. Price doesn't include shipping, but shipping will be reasonable.
Hey guys. We've got ~100 yds of 1.9 oz orange ripstop w/ DWR that we're looking to move quickly. 1st quality, uncalendered on both sides. If you need it now, we'll do individual orders for $4/yd....
One thing my father always taught me was to do a final walk around check of camp after tear down. Over the years I have found several things I forgot about, as well as things others had lost. For...
Yeah we can do that for you no problem. PM sent
Hey guys, recently started playing with some Orange amsteel, and noticed that as I spliced and worked with it, the orange color began to fade to a lighter shade of orange, and it looked really bad....
Hi Carl,
We are currently working on bug nets with zippered and shock cord closures. Right now we are looking for a few different people to take the bug net out and give us some feedback on the...
If anyone has been thinking about a new tarp, we've just put ours on sale through Memorial day weekend for $135. Let us know if you have any questions and we'll be more than happy to help!

Sometimes at AH we have cut offs or small scrap pieces of fabric. At first, we just threw them away, but then we thought about all the fellow forum members out there who could use the stuff for stuff...
Thanks for the kind words. It's always great to hear back from our customers and get feedback. Looks like you swapped out for whoopies? We've been thinking about those as an add-on option.
- Kyle...
Wow, it seems a lot of things have happened in the past few days. After reading through all the posts, we want to first reaffirm our stance that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. While...
Thanks a lot Loki! Wish I could've made it out there. Ryan said he had a great time meeting everyone and hanging out. I posted a link to your blog post on our website as a review. Hope you don't mind...
No one actually slept in one, but I had both the Original and Thru-hiker strung up, as well as the new Big sil 12x10 tarp. I think Fireinmybones has video showing the tarp and original all set up.

Great news, Appalachian hammock will be at the Smoked butt hang this weekend. Ill be bringing a few hammocks with me as well.
Not sure, but if you PM me your zip/postal code, I can calculate it for you.
Little late to the signup, But I will be there tomorrow afternoon for the weekend. However I am confused about the cost/how to pay that cost? Can anyone explain?
