Here was my review I posted on JacksRBetter regarding the High Sierra Sniveler. They haven't posted it yet, so I wanted to paste it here for my own amusement. :)
I am in love with this...
I Did my first cold winter backyard hang. I wanted to test my new High Sierra Sniveller and Duch Buckle Whoopie set up. The mail arrived late so it was dark when setting up and my fingers froze a...
Thanks so much for your response. Do you mind if I ask you which one you had purchased first? Th SS or the HSS? Did you start with the SS and then decide that you wanted a little more warmth for the...
Yes. I ordered the standard fill and then ended up ordering the HSS. Thanks. I will keep the HSS and if JRB didn't have such great customer service I would sell you the SS, but since they do, I will...
Happy Holidays!
I have been waiting to click the button on this purchase for about a year and very excitedly clicked the button the day after Christmas and then forgot about the additional fill...
I'm 5 2 went with winternest. I'm not Ultra light, but I liked it full and I added 2 Oz extra fill. Still is lighter than a tent. I do plan on some serious winter outings.
Great job. I've learned a lot just from the first 2. Subscribed. Keep up the good work.
Yes.
JRB or Alite - what do you prefer if you are familiar with both?
On your hammock calculator, what choice would be equivalent to the sparrow for caclulation purposes. ( I lied about the no hurry a couple of posts back).
Will a Winternest Work on this or will it affect the lay?
CBS? No Way
Underquilt drawn nice and tight
Forgot about nose

Fantastic. I'm sold. Not on Hammock Calculator yet. No hurry.

It is FANTASTIC!
Testing out Winter Nest last weekend at 29 degrees. Serenaded by Wolf and Owl. Greeted by a beautiful morning.117671
....why, why do only some images wind up sideways?
Love at first sight. If it weren't pouring right now, I would be testing it out in the hammock. Instead, I'm wearing it around the house and now I'm going to see if I really can fit it in its...
Not both the on the underside at one time. I was going to test the underquilt as a topquilt while sleeping on the pad.
It does help. I'm going to try a them both: UQ and Pad and Bag and UQ and see how they feel. I'm a newbie and I guess the "go to ground" goes away after a few months. I've had some pretty...
My idea behind the question was that I have an UQ on the way and a downmat. I have a 5Degree bag that weighs 4 lbs. I was trying to lighten my load by using the Downmat as my UQ and my UQ as a TQ...
Hello,
I have an underquilt on order and also have a downmat that I am thinking of carrying just in case I have to "go to ground". The mat I have is rated R4, but was wondering if that R value...
Gorgeous! Great photos. Thanks for sharing.
Is this the half hitch knot you mean?

Plus. Do you really think they would let me try it for that long and still return it?
Gaaaaa! One pad arrived on Saturday (REI) and I cradled it, thinking I should try it. The other EXPED and the schnoozle pump arrive on Tuesday. I am so tempted, but my order for the UQ from Jack...
No, I did not tie a slippery half hitch. I read back through the posts and thought maybe I should do that (First I need to learn how). But then I thought :should I really need to do that to a...
Welcome from Northern, WI. This is a great group!

I so much wanted to love this hammock. I used a couple of Thermarest pads while I was still at the office to see if it would work temporarily and I was surprised how well they...
I'm thinking of just using an air mattress in it this weekend as it is supposed to be in the 20's. When I really get to test it out it will be in the Catskills.

I revisited the mats and was able to find the Synmat UL 9 LW from Moontrail and was able to actually call and talk to someone about returning if I liked the other mat better. They were...
Thanks kg. I'll keep a watch on those buckles
Tomorrow the Amok arrives. Today I spent WAY too much time researching sleeping pads. Sheesh there are so many varieties. I finally settled on one that wasn't recommended knowing REI will exchange...
Thanks. That was very helpful!
Hello,
I was looking for a lightweight pad for my soon to arrive Amok - and found the Exped SynMat UL 9 very reasonable on this site, but am not familiar with it. Has anyone ever ordered or...
ULA Ohm was on my radar...but now that I purchased the Amok .........
After trying my non-domesticated hand on turning a lapquilt into an underquilt with duct tape, staples and parachute cord, and freezing my butt off under the supermoon. I had a TQ and UQ in my...
Wow. Looking good.....perfect timing.
Could you extend the 15 feet with another strap - or only can use the ones that come with the Hammock.
Hello from a Newbie.
I did my first hang at the end of August and fell in love with this Hammock Camping. I travel lots, and just bring my gear with me on business trips. I've gotten about 12...
It flows like butta......when I get the perfect knot when hanging my tarp. If any of you have any advice for simple tieing off tips for those that don't have a Boys Scout background it would be...
Very Nice. Thanks for sharing.
Here's mine for September - though I'll do it next weekend since the challenge hadn't started yet:)https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=115527&d=1441673751
I'm in. Great idea
Welcome to the forum. When camping in a tent I used to wake up sore and stiff. My first night in a hammock and I was in heaven. Welcome to the forum and happy hanging.
I thought I saw a post that had a Google document spreadsheet rating places, even adding if dog friendly.
Welcome after 3 years:)
I was on Amazon purchasing bites for my camel bak since I lost mine on the way back from another trip, and Amazon suggested I might like this FoxOutfitters Neolite Hammock. It was on sale for $40.00....
