Shug, I have been inactive for a couple of years. My health has stopped me from hiking. I was killing time today and decided to look at HF to see who I knew was still active. It was great to see...
Seward has a campground set up for RV's. Primitive by RV standards. Electric and gravel grass sites. I drove through it last week and I think you could find a couple of trees on the edge that would...
My daughter the family dentist fitted me with an appliance. She said it's for mild to moderate problems. I think it is working for me. I don't snore near as loud as before. But I have not had the...
Great hike. Loved the end of hike pizza, but every hike needs a beer in the truck waiting.
Thanks again.
Yosemite is on my list of places to go to. Looks like it would be worth the trip. Thanks for the report.
I'm glad to hear that the finger looks to be on the mend without major damage.
I'm glad to see you do the deep cold. I don't think my body could stand the cold air on the lungs.
Thanks again and...
Dang, I had the previous weekend in my calendar. But it was easy to change. Unless something comes up I plan to attend.
I'm jealous. I can't convince my wife that we could park the 32ft fifthwheel RV some place that does not have electrical power.
Great trip report and I will look for the next one.
That is a great looking new house.
I saw RV camper using extendable paint roller poles to hold up a awning extennsion.
I love it. We watched Mary Poppins on the last trip to see the grandkids.
I looks like I will not make it this time to the hang.
I fell on some ice back before Thanksgiving, and still sore from that fall. Report from a friend that was in front of me was my feet went...
I did not see this until today. Thanks for the PM Skygzr.
Nebraska football season will be over by then, and that opens up the weekends. I don't see anything on my calendar at this time. I have...
Well that title is confusing.
My wife and two of her friends have scheduled a RV trip to the Paducah quilt show in April. The guys are going to have four days to kill while they do their quilt...
Welcome Stephz0r.
There is getting to be more HF members from Nebraska. Several in the Omaha area. I don't know of any local hangs for this fall. Football schedule makes it hard for fall hangs. ...
Great report. Glad the fish cooperated. Hope to get in better shape and find the time to make it out again next year.
I will extend a welcome also. Great to see more from the "Go Big Red" state.
I have used a plastic one for several years. Helps take the guess work out of the hang on uneven ground.
I remember when the milkweed research was going on in Nebraska. Milkweed was a problem in lots of cropland and and was a good healthy weed. Then they tried to grow fields of just milkweed. Then...
Welcome to HF. Good to see more from Nebraska.
My health problem is not real serious. I fell on a short ladder in my church in January and injured my leg. I put a gash in the shin of the leg that needed 17 stitches to close. It was a "V"...
Great reports on the hang. I wish I could have made the trip since it is close. However, I have a health issue that prevented me from going. Maybe next trip.
Welcome from another Nebraskan. We will be glad to help you get off of the ground.
Great show as usual. I like the saddle bags on the side. I might add one to side of my old bridge. Keep us entertained till the next time I can join you on a hike.
I love you cold weather stuff. Only problem is that I would have to give up my bridge. But my lungs and sinus don't like that cold. The wife fussed at me for blowing snow yesterday without a mask....
I cut the backs out of the BA and made quilts out of them. Found them on Steep and Cheap. They have worked well. I use an underquilt and a foot pad.
I'm glad to see that you guys had such a great time. Probably to cold for me, but great to see the adventure. Keep warm.
Your more then welcome to use it. To my best guess, not counting what we'll be using, I'll be bringing the canoe and 2 extra kayaks.(more if I have room on the trailer)
Thanks
I'll probably ask again as it gets closer, but if anyone wants to use a 2/3 person canoe let me know. If I don't have anyone requesting it, I'll probably leave it to make room...
Looks like I might need to bring my own trees, or half a stand.:)
I saw the list. I bet it will grow by the time of the hang.
We may get the wives to canoe the river is the flow and weather cooperate.
I'm not sure how I missed the post for so long. Kept looking in the Midwest area instead of the southeast.
Dennis and I will be there for the event. I missed last year and am looking...
Let me be the first from Nebraska to welcome you to HF. We are few in Nebraska but slowly growing in numbers.
I don't think that I will be able to make it. I'll be thinking and loading the RV for a trip to the Daytona 500 and other stuff. Plan to catch the Ozark hang on the way back.
I'll keep up with the...
I don't think that Weston Bend State park allows overnight camping on the trail. They are nice trails. You could camp in the campground and day hike the trails. Some of the camp sites would be...
I sure wish I had been there to share in the great looking food. Of course I would like the conversation also. I hope to make the next one.
Something else came up and I will not be attending the hang this year at the lake. So someone else will need to bring fire wood or hunt for it in the woods.
Have fun, and I will be looking for trip...
The park looked about the same as last year. Great spot for a walk and hang. Thanks for the report.
I will take 20 feet. Will send PM.
AJ you sound a little like me. Sometimes when I'm out there huffing and puffing with my severe asthuma, I wonder if I should give this hikeing thing up? As you know you you can only go so fast. ...
I loved the water shots. Stay warm my friend.
Warm in Nebraska, for now.
Welcome to HF.
You have a chance to meet some on the folks and see a little gear at KC hang just east of Topeka.

Come for the whole thing...
I try to wipe mine down with a microfiber towel. Last year on the Colorado hang I wiped the top side. I got in a hurry and did not wipe the bottom. Put it in the skins and in the bag in the...
It looks good Paul. I did see a 99 cent quilt???? You might look at that page.
I liked the Idaho trip reports.
Last year I made the Yellow River Hang after my Mayo visit. I'm at Mayo now so will not have that travel advantage. Probably will not be able to make this year if it happens.
Thanks for the report. Sorry the feet are still causing you problems. Heck, you might have to slow down to my pace.:D
Indian Cave is a nice park for hiking and lots of trees for the hammocks. Glad you found the hammock is better than on the ground. Not a surprise to any one here.
Contrats on the 10 K of subscribers. I don't know how those number add up, but I think that everyone on HF watches every one that you post here.
I think I meet you at the first northern hang before...
There should be plenty of trees. Many in the mowed and groomed grounds that can be used. I you move back in to the woods there are lots more. Last year I set up in the woods. I did that because...
If you are working with the ridge line then you can lay one on top of other half. Place a piece of glass or metal under the top edge. Then use a soldiering iron with a flat tip and cut and melt the...
