Would you consider trading for a HH Explorer Deluxe with bottom entry AND zipper? Has whoopie slings but will also send original suspension with asym tarp and associated hardwear.
I'll take it.
I know I have found my integrated bug net to be very useful hanging in the Red River Gorge and along various parts of the Sheltowee Trace. It all depends on location, I guess. Low lying areas and...
It's a beautiful area and I would definitely recommend this section. However, if you don't have your "trail legs", that last 10 miles of downhill from Bluff Mountain to Hot Springs can really put a...
I really enjoyed my AT section from Max Patch to Hot Springs in the fall. The views from Max Patch are really nice with the changing leaves and ending in Hot Springs provides not only great places...
I carry about 1/3 of a foam pad with me for sitting and use it between the layers of the footbox of my WBBB with the 3/4 length Yeti. I've never had a problem with staying warm. BTW, I'm 6'1" so...
Welcome from Frankfort. RRG is definitely a great destination, but I would encourage you to look at other spots along the Sheltowee Trace and down in Big South Fork to see some of the best that the...

Welcome...Frankfort here.
It depends on which model of each you are talking about. I had the HH Explorer Deluxe with the 2QZQ mod and Whoopie Slings before I purchased a WBBB 1.7 DL and like them both. Having already fixed...

Good deal! I love my Optimus Crux...especially how it folds down and fits in the recess of the canister. :D

I would ask "why" they are resistant and have them explain what they percieve is the intent of the buddy sleeping rule and then work on solutions to meet that intent.
I would think that two...
Hooah...good for you. I know he'll appreciate it. I'm heading to Iraq this summer and am torn between taking my beloved WBBB or a SB Pro. With the drawdown in Iraq, I'm told our conditions could...

Interested in Petzl. PM Sent.
Whoopies are the way to go with a HH. You can also convert the stuff sack into a Bishop Bag by cutting a small hole in the bottom...it's not the same as 'skins, but it makes it easier to hang / pack...

If you are traveling in remote areas, you should consider some sort of shelf stable food source. If you're in a situation where you're not going to be found for a while and need to make...
PM sent for camera.
I did the same for a while, but opted for the standard 9 and slipped the tarp RL through the eye and over. It holds well, but can be moved along the RL as necessary.
If park rangers don't like tree straps, they'd go nuts with these things.
Since I know the load will only be in one direction, I've found the Klemheist knots to be more efficient than prusiks for connecting my tarp to a CRL.

No issues side sleeping in my WBBB.
It's hard to determine the size without a reference object (dime, pencil, etc) but you might be able to use it for guyline tensioners.

Make sure you add Shug's birthday in there somewhere...
Yes. It's mainly a convenience/speed set-up with the biner or a Dutch Clip but the webbing loop will hold with no issue.
As long as it's good thread and sealed appropriately (which adds to the thread weight) there shouldn't be an issue. I would be interested to hear your results in achieving a "snappy" pitch of the HH...
