Mudman! Sweet Cleaver!!!!
What kind of boots are those? They look like a great canoe boot to me.
**** you have some scary bugs out there...lol!
I was pondering the same question when I received mine a week ago. As the above poster said, the net or cover should start at your foot end so you can zip it up closed while laying in the hammock...
Welcome aboard!
Enjoy your new quilt! I have fallen in love with mine!
HAHAHA!!! I'll try washing it first ;)
I'd go with either a normal Blackbird or check out Dream Hammocks Dangerbird. I recently recieved my Dangerbird 65 in the mail. I'll admit I haven't used the XLC but I do have a Blackbird 1.7 double....
LOL! Um...no...it has never been washed. I dry it on a clothes line after every trip but have never washed it.
I am currentlly working on setting Tallula up in her own hammock. I have an ENO singlenest with bug overcover for her. I figured on putting a layer of reflectix inside the hammock and a layer of CCF...
I have used a medium sized thermorest pillow for the last 3-4 years. It has recieved a fair amount of use but it feels somewhat chunky and the outer cover feels sort of...gross...like it has been...
I just recieved my new Dangerbird in the mail today. This hammock looks beautiful. I love the color! The 1.9oz ACU Universal Camo is soooo soft!
It took my a few youtube videos to figure out how...
I recently contacted Paul about a possible deep cold project. I needed a TQ and UQ that would keep me warm in the freezing Canadian north. I told Paul that I already had a few winter quilts that kept...
I just wanted to say that this forum is by FAR the best forum I have ever been on. The forum members are so kind here. There is a wealth of knowledge to be found and members offer it up so readily...
Thats just awesome! Thank you for posting :)
I recently contacted Paul for a custom TQ and UQ. He is such a great person to deal with, was able to answer all of my questions and was just so helpful.
Great choice IMO! You will be happy :)
Hahahaha!!!! Nice!
Trust me I'll be out soon as the rivers are ice free. Already made plans to paddle the Kattawagami River for roughly the time the pack ice leaves James Bay. Should hit high...
The wait makes getting the package in the mail all the more fun ;) I just placed an order too, Randy is such a great guy to deal with!
Unless its peak summer and extremely hot out, I use my JRB Katahdin (4" loft) year round...keep in mind I live in Canada.
^^^Yes the gear box works excellent...nice way to organize everything and keep things tidy.
I keep it somewhere under my tarp...either on a piece of plastic on ground or suspended from another rope going under my tarp. I keep all of my gear under the tarp close to me...food and all. I've...
I'm 5'7" 235lbs, wide in shoulders. I have both reg and wide TQ's. My reg sized TQ NEVER gets used. I roll so much in my sleep that I always end up outside of my reg width TQ. I also always now get...
Coyote brown is not an option at this time. But I do like that color...I have an HG quilt in that color and it looks sharp.
Thanks Winterwind, actually going to go with sky blue with black inside....
Thanks Mr. Tattoo.
Also...any suggestions for a nice color for TQ/UQ to go with an olive brown WBBB or ACU Camo color Dangerbird would be appreciated. I just don't want olive green or black...
Same lol.
A few companies that have truly surprised me by fast shipping have been Warbonnet and JRB...it seemed that within a few days of them recieving my payment my order would be in within the...
They make custom high quality gear in the U.S. They seem to communicate via email or phone with most of their customers for each order. And they are one of the few pioneer companies for hammock...
I agree...bring on spring. My canoe is thirsty lol.
I have a HH Exped Zip...great hammock. Similar to WBBB for comfort.

Book (sometimes)...
Wondering if anyone has any pics of a quilt from Underground Quilts in olive brown? I've seen the pics on the website but its nice to see some real world pics from in the field...
I'm trying to...
Thanks guys. Great info.
JRS, if I may ask what materials did you choose?
I tend to be a side sleeper and sometimes will even roll onto my stomach in my hammock. So I like a hammock that can provide a fairly flat lay. Currently using a WBBB 1.7dbl that I find has a pretty...
What's the condition like? Heavily used? How old is it?
Also what's its retail value?
Nice looking website!
Nice video! I really like the color of your top quilt...looks like a baby blue/sky blue.
I may end up using an ENO singlenest with the Eno bugnet over it, put two layers of CCF inside it and just see if my dog will hang in it by herself...this would be ideal especially on trips in the...
Dude! Sweet tarp!! I've had the same one for 2 years now and have not even opened it up...I've been using a Speer Wintertarp I picked up from pgibson. Now I'm stoked to open up my superfly and give...
Considering my sleep system's value is what...around $1000+ that is reason alone I never set up near the camp fire. I do use my gas stove on the ground while sitting in my hammock but I am extremely...
Down booties from Arrowhead equipment. After I set up my hammock I unpack them and leave them on top of my topquilt to expand...very nice product...I'd like to get the ones that come up the leg more...
I never worry about bears...again its primarily the bugs that are the problem...especially because prime canoe season in northern ontario/Quebec is May/June.
NWOHanger, I may end up doing that...
I have yet to come up with a solution.
I have an 88lb pitty. She loves to snuggle and loves being in the hammock with me. However I'm fidgity when I sleep and have accidently knocked her out of...
I just watched that video and I'll stick with my down ;). Not a bad idea (hardly new) if funds are tight...
I think I'm working those dates, sounds like fun though. I was up snowshoeing in APP a few days ago. I'd say there's about a foot and a half of snow on the ground.
1 - Eaglenest Double
2 - Eaglenest Single
3 - Hennessy ExpedZip
4 - Warbonnet Blackbird
I use the WBB on all my trips though.
I do like the looks of the Snipe hammock...would be a nice light...
Sounds good, I'll run it by her.
I sleep in my hammock while canoe tripping.
I will go over my work schedule...I've already been on enough canoe trips this year to PO my gf (lol) but I will think about it.
Great thread guys...love the pitty pics...that's what I have although mine is a mix and weighs 80lbs. I'd LOVE to hang with my dog but I move around way too much so am going to try the pad idea...she...

I swear I am going to winter hang this year...I was all ready to last year and chickened out lol. Going to start in the backyard ;)
I will be trying it with:

I've got one but have not used it yet and am bringing my Speer Winter Tarp on my 11 day canoe trip starting tomorrow. I need to put some time into the Superfly to outfit it with cords and suspension...
