i've been camping all my life. about 10 years ago i complained about my back always hurting in the morning and a friend suggested getting a hammock for camping. so i did. but i never thought of...
i just wish that they listed the weight limit for those stands. the one i got at target is rated at 450.
that would be about $85 with shipping. i just picked one up at target that looks similar to that one. it was $99. i'm 350 and have used it a few times with my double eno and haven't had any problems....
no i ordered 2 and the following day got an email from amazon saying that the seller cancelled my order and also got an email from the seller saying that amazon had the price listed wrong. sux. :(

i found this last night. The Byer of Maine Vario hammock stand normally sells for around $135 plus shipping, but amazon has it for $24.49 plus $33.32 for shipping! That's over $100 off.

FYI for any bigger guys lookin to build this. i weigh 350, built this and when i tried it for the first time both hinges started bending and pulling out of the 4x4. so i need to find stronger hinges...
i live in socal and there's 3 walmarts that i visit regularly. all of them still have fabric sections and dollar tables.
i bought almost 12 yards of unknown ripstop material from wally world at $2.95/yd. it was late so i didn't pay much attention to it but when i got home i realized that it wasn't nylon. :confused:
