Hi sturgeon, not following that. Theoretically, it seems that the Wooki should not move at all given the design, and if it's tied out using the side ties? Can you describe the movement that happens...

If it helps, I am 6' and the Phoenix easily covers by shoulders to just below my knees. YMMV.
thank them. Adam and Jenny did me a solid with a very quick TAT on 40 degree burrow that's leaving with me tomorrow morning for Ely, MN and Northern Tier Scout high adventure base. Very much...
Cannibal has it about right. Having used the webbing and DIY whoopies, the webbing has less fiddle factor. That said, the whoopies and straps are not a burden, especially after several uses.
Adamsw3 Nice! Wonderful spot.
Lugnut, my favorite hang has become scout summer camp, anywhere. A full 6 nights of hang time.
Use Groundhog's exclusively and virtually knot free (per Warbonnet instructions)
So sorry to hear this news. Prayers to Adam, Jen and family.
Gimme a 10er with a "C." A bouncy "C."
I purchased the 100' mini-spool, 1.75mm single braid dyneema (yellow) from the warbonnet site and use 6' for each tie out. I use 8' for each panel pull (use these for porch mode as well). I...
Congrats Sound Man. It's clear that Hammock Gear goes the extra mile.
On the calendar. Have enough of the right gear now to put this in the realm of feasibility.
Nice Raul. No issues viewing.
Nobody said anything about AAAT service on the trail. Stormcrow and Thorwren, I'm speechless, nothing tops that customer care.
Nice stuff, Raul. Thanks for taking one for the audience during filming at the expense of stepping into puddles.
Very Nice, Raul. Thanks!
Got it, thanks. I also like the idea of the AHE Burrito. Appreciate all of the inputs.
Shadow, I believe that's the poncho on the left, although it looks huge and almost like a tarp?
I'm not sure what I'm seeing in the second picture. It appears to be just an UQ, but perhaps this...
+2, what Shug and Ron said. Love these. Especially the sewn in pocket to store the RL and extra panel pull lines.
Sad that Spinn looks like it's off the market indefinitely. Would love to hear otherwise.
This is getting in the direction I think I might try. I'm not familiar with the winter sock so I'll search that. Thanks G.L.P.
Great point. I'm fortunate that I have a backyard that gives me several choices and do test out new gear and situations. Right now, getting below 15-20* is about a 2-4 night a year scenario. If...
I'm thinking about joining the Mt. Roger's hang this year and wonder if I can stretch my current 3S set-up vs. buying new gear.
I currently have a 3S Crowsnest and 3S Black Mamba TQ. If I were to...
Have not had to go to ground. Regarding wet UQ's, I spent 7 days at summer camp with the scouts this past June. We had a sideways TS come through our site during the day and we were not fast enough...
I shift and sleep on both sides during the night. Have not had this problem.
Nice stuff!
It appears that you will be able to lay flattest in the 1.7 DL. Good luck.
Agree with Loneoak, see Brandon's site for product details. He has info there about the max load and suggested best "lay flat" weight. If you e-mail him he can also give you a recommendation based...
+ 1. You can always take your feet out of the footbox. When the temps are in the low 70's or high 60's during a summer VA evening, a 3-season bag is too much for me and I reach for the fleece bag. ...
The WBBB hammock with footbox is so awesome that it doesn't hang from trees. Trees hang from it.
On the calendar and will attend if I can confirm that our troop does NOT have an outing that weekend. Looks like a blast.
I have that very config, although the biners serve other purposes after moving on to whoopies and straps. Pads are great for a start, you can then determine if you want to stay there are move on to...
Was very glad it wasn't one of ours. Your solution is similar to one that crossed my mind at the time:cursing:
That's good to know too, thanks!
Roger that. Honestly, the hardest part...
While at Scout camp a few weeks ago I chose hammock and tarp over canvas tent and cot. Absolutely thrilled with the hang - best week of camp sleep ever. Imagine my chagrin at returning to camp and...
Hope all works well for you at camp. I took my WBBB with me to camp this year (week ago) and it was the best sleeping experience in several year's of camp. Although you have left, +1 on gunner's...
+2. Very responsive. Disconcerted by a tear in my BMJ from a stick with human attached, Brandon helped to alieve with quick, simple instructions for the patch. This is one of many great...
Ditto everything that Cannibal said. Beyond that, we'd really need to know about your usage: backpacking or other. If the former, is it UL or just casual. Of course, UL (ultra-light) will cost...
+2. After taking a suggestion from the "For Sale" section on a Land's End Down (and packable) jacket and comparing the two, the fleece wasn't even close on weight and bulk. I too was sad to take it...
Partially my own fault for pitching too close to a path. My disappointment was more toward the lack of interest on "Trustworthy", but glad it was not one of our own scouts. Yes, on going UQ. I...
Nice! FYI, I've found out that the family cat get's first crack at anything down. I've spread out TQ's and UQ's on the floor to get a glimpse of size, then walked away. She loves them and...
Thanks Hawk. Your comment about getting a new TQ has me thinking about a "minus" rating on the seasons given certain temp ranges. I read someone else here state something similar. Here's the...
The pocket is a great idea! As nice as the shelf is, I too have been searching with my hand to find the small, pocket stuffies.
Yes to the cot and on the first night. You have the scenario right, the cot fabric performs similar to hammock fabric: you're up in the air with basically no insulation.
Roger that!
...
Arrived home yesterday from a week with 47 scouts at scout camp. Having brought my hammock, tarp and Phoenix, I still spent the first night on a cot having run out of time from a long day of travel...
Mine jumps out of the bishop sack and sets itself up!
+1 on Brandon's advice. The first few outings with mine I had the temptation to use all of the foot box. Playing around, I ended up with a config dead on with what he is describing to you . At the...
What Brandon sells on his site is also good stuff. I use it for my 4 cornors and 4 panel pulls.
Just made a set using the dimensions on Just Jeff's site for the WB BMJ - 18 X 72" with the diagonal at 5 and 13" (small and wide openings). While 5" is perfecthly fine, I think 4" would be perfect...
Pick only one? Shelf!
No bites here in VA
That confirms what I have seen as well.
