Hello Guys,
After this last hang I decided I should get a warmer UQ since I live in Wisconsin. When talking with a respected HF vendor he suggested I may see if anyone would be interested in a trade.
I will start with what I will be willing to trade. For those who are not donating members I have started making knives which you are not able to see because it is in the cutlery section. I am willing to trade one of my CPM3V survival knives with a large ferro rod and kydex sheath.
The knife was hand made by me out of NSM forged Billet CPM3V and expertly heat treated by Peters Heat Treat. I value the knife between 300-350$ and here is a parts list.
the blank bare bar of CPM3V is roughly (150$ for 3 feet) 45$
Peters Heat Treat with shipping 40$ (27+shipping)
Titanium hardware 35$
ferro rod blank 20$
hand made micarta material with American made super high end resin 25$
Glow in the dark powder impregnated in handle (just the powder) 17$
Kydex supplies with teklok 35$
I have close to 20 hours of machining and labor in this knife. Plus the design work. The knife itself is 10oz and with the sheath and the ferro rod it is 1.25.1.4lbs. It is Rockwell 62-63. It also has a flat grind with a convex edge which is baby delivery sharp and was done on Japanese water stones.
I milled this whole knife and is was sanded to a 400grit finish before Heat Treat. I left the HT look because it is a corrosion barrier and it looked cool. The handles are burlap micarta from my GF's dads farm and the white dots are impregnated GITD resin.
I have molded the interior of the handles to have a vaulted fit in the knife tang which remove stress from the attachment hardware and the handle has a huge amount of strength. This a knife I would send someone to war with, punch thru a car door or batton iron wood with. Oh and this can be maked #1 and I intend on not stopping making knives....SO you would have a first run....#1.
My request is simple. I want a full length UQ preferably a 0'f or over stuffed 20'f I really want hyper dry 850 and good shell material but am open to a home maker.
I do want the best design you can do as I am offering.
If you do not like the finish I can bring it to a 600grit shin. If you don't like the sheath I can make a different one.
