Red face ViDEO: Sioux Hustler Trail Loop....BWCA Wilderness...Northern Minnesota

Had my eye on this 30+ mile loop called the Sioux Hustler Trail for a spell now. It is in a remote part of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area 35 miles North of Ely, Minnesota along the Echo Trail. The trail is primitive, and is not well-maintained and runs from the Little Indian Sioux River to Hustler Lake then on up to Pageant Lake and back down.

So Alex Trail Eyes, Strung Out and myself headed out in some 39º rainy, wet and windy weather. That is always a challenge.
This trail is not marked by any signage...just rock cairns and sawn logs so good trail skills are required along with good maps and compass skills. Remain vigilant.
Some of the most gorgeous tread I have ever walked upon as the trail is lightly traveled due to it's remoteness.

I've been wanting to hike that trail for a couple of years. Hoping TheBoy is up to it in a year or two. I may have to try to get up there myself first in order to scope it out. Downloading video now to watch.

Thanks for the video and taking us along, Shug. 'Preciate ya.

    GOOD GRAVY!!

A new Whooooo Buddy Production featuring our very own Shug, Shug, Shuggity Shug. I will watch when I get home. And report back tomorrow. Darn, it's already tomorrow, then later.

Thanks, Shug, for giving me a great reason to get to my tv asap.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Do other people get strange looks when they stand up and shout "Whoooo Buddy!!" after seeing Shug has posted another video?
Seriously Shug, thanks for making these videos. I am sure it is a lot of work and I along with countless others very much appreciate it!

Well, that sir is some mighty beautiful country and a good trip to boot. Mighty fine beaver work also. Having done trail maintenance I know the effort that goes into it and like you am always very appreciative when I see it. Always good to go the trail less traveled and made me envious. Thanks for taking us along.

Sure did enjoy seeing the morning beaver and that sputtering snow makes me hope I get a bit of that on my next trip. Had to laugh at "Shug" on your backpack and camp stool, them fellas you hiking with got sticky fingers? Thanks for the look at remote Minnesota.

Awesome Shug. I've passed this trail several times on portages with my buddies who are all paddlers and wouldn't strap on a backpack to save their lives, which is a weird thought given the "hump" it takes to portage. "Walk? All the time? Are you out of your mind?" Now I know this trail is doable and it's been put on the short list. As always thanks for the excellent entertainment, Cheers, Shawn to Sean.
