Basic hammock camping BORING blue tarp works but ugly...

Boring pictures, for some maybe, but this was my first time going from instead of lounging in the hammock to sleeping in it 3 nights.

Was only worried about the bears confusing me with the deer bag.

    Was real comfortable..

I also found I used these solar Christmas lights as line guides at night to not trip or hang my self.

I learned I like the tarp higher then my head standing.

I like the tarp strung above head level to other tree branches.

Blue tarp works and blocks sun.

Being on uneven ground and going pee when sleepy is harsh some times.

It is great to have mat to stand on when taking shoes off and getting in and out of hammock.

It is on having all your gear not in a tent to "hide".

Not boring at all, if it works for you and you slept comfortably that's all that matters! Thanks for sharing.

You can always get a camo tarp at Harbor Freight

    Asymmetrical zipper.

    I got it used.
    No rain fly.
    But snake skins.

The mat lets me put my feet down without standing in the dirt. Then put on my shoes.

3 days of really car camping.

But with the hammock, I didn't have to sleep with the guys in the van. The van would have been fine.

But this was a good test when I didn't have the van. And after the first day, I was finding it still comfortable., so I stayed in it.

I had a pad, sleeping bag. Full sized pillow. And a sheet. It was 48 or so every night. And nice but 90, during the day.

It ain't gotta be pretty to work. I used a cheap brown tarp I bought from a survival store on a trip last year and it did the job and fairly well.
