    Zipper pulls

Would there be any downside to removing the metal zipper pulls and installing corded pulls in their place? I would like have some reflective cord on them and am thinking if I can remove the metal tabs I may as well. I know some vendors just add corded pulls on the existing tabs.

I haven't seen any discussion on this and just want to make sure there wouldn't be any issues that others may be aware of.

I hate clanky metal pulls. I almost always toss a piece of Lash-It on there in their place.

Aside from being cautious when removing the metal pieces so as to not damage the hammock body, I can't really see any issues. Hope it helps!

It's a matter of taste. For hammocks, I prefer a medium sized metal tab like the ones WB uses - no additional cord. I find the tabs easier to grab and use one-handedly. I also found that cord always gets stuck somewhere (between the layers of my double layered hammock, in the zipper...). Same goes for zippers on clothing. For small pouches, I don't mind cord. But I use those with two hands.

I prefer cord threaded over a pull, because the metal pull itself likes to make noise, and a cord can get stuck somewhere; it's a happy middle ground for me.

I put a long piece of reflective cord through the zipper pull. I find it easier to find the pull that way, plus it is easier for me to use. I also put little tiny hair bands (meant for doggie fur) around the pull on the zipper, they are glow in the dark, that also helps me find the zipper easily. My shoulders dislocate easily, I do not want to hunt for the zipper, so my cord and markers work well for me.

I like reflective cords on my zippered items. I did that on my zippered hammocks and zippered bugnets. But now I have gone a step further and eliminated anything with zippers.

    You sleep on a mattress,
You sleep on a hammock ,
I' seeing a similarity here "Uncle Buck "
I hope it doesn't fall under the mattress tag law !
