Rick needs some fresh air and I think we all do. Come on out to the Walk-in-Water tract of the Lake Wales Ridge state forest and experience some different terrain than most are used to in Florida. Sandhills made of sugar sand and some of them above 130 feet in elevation. We will have the Wood Duck primitive camp site for both nights and can do a day hike on Saturday to see the sights. For those not familiar with this terrain... it is not easy.
There is information about the site, directions to the site, etc. from this old thread:
https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...s-Day-Weekend)
and here is a suggested path to the camp site (although you could continue on the service road heading west and then go on the service road going south if you wanted to).
I will probably run out prior to the hang to verify a path to the camp site since we have changed our hiking trails a bit recently.
