    What happened to Ed Speer?

I read a lot of references to Ed Speer and his products, but it appears that he, Speer Hammocks, and even Tree to Tree have vanished. I hope he sold his product rights for a wad and is enjoying retirement, and that this is not health related.

Missed by all that ever had interaction with him! Great guy and a great ambassador for hammock camping.

Yes, a great guy who made great gear but never put down anyone other manufacturers gear! He taught me(in his book and via conversation by phone and in person) the concept of the Pea Pod, with which I have done some really comfy cold weather camping! But I was told not long ago, by the folks at TTTG that he was still active in some fashion through them.

Interesting. I never met Ed but my buddy did and I read the book back when we started in hammocks. Glad to hear he is still around.
