Hello from SC

I found out about this site from my team leader and medic. I figured since I've spent so much time on here sucking as much information as I can from everyone I should probably register. I think I've finally got enough of a setup where I can try to hang for an overnight trip. Looking forward to learning even more from everyone on here.

Welcome from across the Dam in Irmo. We have a statewide club here in SC for hammock camping (Palmetto State Hangers) and we're glad to help in any way we can. Our annual cold weather "Frozen Butt" hang is coming up in January (we're planning on a pig roast that weekend) and you're welcome to attend or just drop by - it's at Sesquicentennial State Park.

I always encourage folks to attend a group hang (even if it's not with us) to learn as much as they can. There's a lot to take in and seeing it in person sometimes goes a long way towards learning rather than just reading and looking at diagrams.

Also, feel free to hit me up any time you've got a question and I'm glad to help. There's lots of us around these parts (the guy who got ME into hammock camping lives in Lexington as well) so ask questions and you'll certainly get an answer.

Outstanding! I'm looking forward to it. I'll definitely try and at least stop by for that trip, would love to come out if my work schedule allows.

Welcome! I learn something every time I visit. Speaking of visits Lexington has on of the best sub sandwich shops anywhere, Larry's Giant Subs and I need to visit again real soon.
