They suggest using either a #2 or #4 cone filter, like this: http://www.melitta.com/en/4-Cone-Fil...crolltoindex=0

I bought a box of them from my local supermarket - got a few hundred for a couple dollars, since I didn't get a name brand filter. I have a chemed too, though I never tried to use the chemed filters. I think in this application they'd be overkill, and either way you'd have to bend the end of the filter, as the bottom of the cone inside the filter is flat, rather than coming to a narrow point like the chemex.
