Guys, check out the forecast for Dawson, NE. It is the closest town. This is going to be a rather warm weekend. The polar weather is leaving the area.
Plan on some mud.

Looking at the map you posted, it doesn't look like a designated camp spot. I'm just wondering if it's not, is the area obvious? I'll be there before noon tomorrow and don't want to setup in the wrong place before everyone else gets there.

Talk about gradual changes in forecast! I normally don't start trusting forecasts until just a day or two before...and this is a perfect example. According to accuweather right now, we're supposed to see a lo of 34 tonight, hi of 57 tomorrow and a lo of 49 tomorrow night. Tomorrow is almost crazy warm. I'm going to re-think my pack list a little bit in light of that.
As mentioned before, Weasel and I will be onsite sometime 'early' evening tonight...I'm guessing somewhere between 6 and 8. We've got a couple of folks coming with us that haven't hammock camped before, but want to give it a go with some of our 'spare' gear. I'm hoping it's not too rough for them with pads and such...never tried it myself actually.
We'll give a 'whoo buddy' as we get close!
Looking forward to seeing some old friends and making some new ones on this trip!
Unfortunately I had to work this weekend. With the weather warming up, I would have been fine with the gear I have. Maybe next time. Hope you all enjoy yourself.
Man was it nice to get out and hang. Stuuuuupendus spot Tool dude n Owl. On a bluff overlooking the MO river valley. Nice to meet some new folks. I'll be going back this winter.
Kirk I'm Pretty sure you voided the warranty on that magnesium stick.

Thank you Tony for suggesting we go back there. Was nice to go back...even if the weather didn't want to cooperate and give us a good view of the river valley.
Cool to see you, Fugahwee, and Jaker again. Was nice meeting Mohiker as well...hope you get to feeling better and can come out to stay on our next run!
Really glad that we got Kirk and Charles to come out with us as well...not sure if they'll be full time hangers, but I know that they were really impressed with the HF'ers that they met out there!
Grandson called me and asked what I was doing...asked for me to send him a pic. He'd caught me eating lunch with Dudorino.

Jaker, Charles. Weasel, Kirk, and Dudorino, gathered round the table field testing the Biolite stove!

Looks like y'all had a good hang! And I gotta ask: How did the biolite stove perform? Was looking at those at REI the other day.
