I'm interested in going as well, just depends on the dates.

I'm going to put a stake in the ground. Nov 21st-23rd. Indian Caves State Park. Everybody pays their own parking/camping fees, since it's a state park. It's not that expensive. I'd like to ping Tony/Dudorino to get us a map for our hang spot...I'll hit him up via FB. These dates seem the best for everyone so far. Let's DO IT!
works for me! Will check to see if Trailboss is available.
Works for me.
Think I paid $10 2 yrs ago. It's a great area, trails all over the place and a dense forest.
I'll save the dates on the calendar! Will work out great for me since I have Thanksgiving break the following week!
If anyone would like to meet up and carpool to the location let me know! Could maybe work out a deal where people pitch in for gas and I wouldn't mind driving people to and from where we meet initially.
I will be there for at least the 21st and 22nd
Uh Nope - This is the John Muir who founded the Sierra Club and helped save Yosemite and the Sequoia.

I'd rather be in the mountains thinking about God, than in church thinking about the mountains.

Do we just show up and pay or do we need to make a reservation with the park? Excuse my ignorance.
Will check with SWMBO tonite - Really hoping to be able to make this my first hang.

I've only been out there once, and we just showed up and paid at the gate. One of the guys who'd organized that hang found and provided a map that showed where we would camp/meet up at. Unfortunately, there were two maps posted and I hiked us in to the wrong spot...but I found the spot I was looking for! LOL!
Dudorino has agreed to do up a map for us, outlining where to park, what trail to take, and where we'll camp at. This park is closer to his neck of the woods than mine, so we're kind of co-hosting the hang in a way.
We will only be about 1/2-3/4 of a mile from the cars, but there's no water directly on the site that we're camping, so you'll want to carry your water in with you. The view more than makes up for that, especially at sunrise.
Looking forward to meeting up with a lot of the folks I've not yet met in person!
