My initial reaction was not the best. I dropped my trekking poles and grabbed my camera as fast as possible and then I realized I just dropped my only weapon. lol But, I managed to snag some good footage and he sure was awesome to see in person.

That's not toooo bad a reaction. At least that's all you dropped. I would have dropped a large...
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Glad you posted some awesome pics! Just showed the wife them too. Her response was "Look at the mountain lion picture! That had to be scary!"
I'm glad you two didn't get pounced on! Can't remember if Tala was with you at that encounter. Really loved the pic of the mule deer checking y'all out. Amazing how close it got! Really some great shots!

    Thanks a bunch!
Tala was not with me during that encounter thankfully. I saw some of the biggest mule deer of my life there with insanely big racks too.

Hopefully I get to hang with the Big guy soon. I bet he has some fun stories.

What a remarkable journey! I followed your progress via Facebook and lived vicariously but I can honestly say that I wouldn't so readily share my down! This is quite an accomplishment, well done you two. Now, what's next on the agenda?

Thanks for the report. I'm looking forward to the video! My favorite pics are the one with the deer in the background, and the one with Tala curled up disguising herself as a rock.

Thanks so much for following along Sporto. I have a much bigger adventure ahead of me in less than three months. That chick "Pockets" and I are getting hitched in early January.

Thanks a bunch. The deer actually came up within feet of us and was not afraid of us at all. That one of Tala is my favorite too and I have it hanging in my living room.
