I had many plans to my summer vacation in early august, but heatwave ruin them almost completely. Instead of hiking, i just pack up gear to my car and drove to west coast of Finland. One week and over 1000km behind. It was fun. I hade my DD Frontline with me and used mostly in the camping areas. Hammocking is not popular here (people don't know about this option) so i got lot's of people visiting with their questions everywhere i was camping When i arrived to Naantali Camping, asked if i can go and check places before i camp. When they heard about hammock, they said that can't do that, because the gardener might kill me if i damage the trees But i told them i have tree friendly straps, it was ok. Luckily i didn't see that gardener
Temperatures were mostly near 30'c, i am not build to those temps Man, i was suffering. So i had to give up the idea of hiking on few parks. This kind of a long heatwave is not common here. Lot's of horsefly's and the bees were so aggressive.

After the vacation, Temperatures dropped a lot's so finally some hiking. Been twice nearby this area called Pukala, which have around 20km trails. I like the lake side, specially the small island where i have been camping 3 times now. http://pixabilly.1g.fi/kuvat/My+vaca...Hiking/Pukala/ The first trip, but only daytrip.
Last two times i had a friend with me, who haven't been sleeping in a hammock before. Both like it a lot. Late august weather was clear, so had nice starry sky in the night. http://pixabilly.1g.fi/blog/57/Pukala,+Orivesi/ (text is in finnish sorry)
Last trip was only 2 days ago with my russian friend. He slept in my TTTM hammock. He got this big Kazan pot with him so we had a good feast in the late evening. Lamb, ribs, rice, onions etc. Actually we made too much of it, so we invited couple of hikers from log shelter to join us.
Let's see when i have time for next trip
