Looks like they've changed the links from those listed above. If you go to the products page you can find:

    ultralight waist pack
    travel pillow
    poncho and shelter
    sculpted tarp

    to match the list above.

Moving away from mountain names to little four-legged critters...interesting.

Is the poncho tarp long enough for a hammock?

    Not all items homegrown.

"Moving away from mountain names to little four-legged critters...interesting."

Nope. They did not name their new gear, Equinox did.

The waist pack is the same as the Equinox one:

I'm kind of disappointed, but they are in business to sell product. I guess it would boil down to who has the best shipping if i was going to buy one of these items. What's next? A JRB Katahdin backpack or a JRB Rover's Roost dog bed?

Yeah, it's kind of like finding out your Geo Tracker is really a Suzuki Sidekick. It doesn't mean it's not a good car, just a re-branded one passed off as another to save money and design/R&D. The easy way out, but it makes perfect business sense.

If you're already buying a big-ticket item like a hammock or quilt, might as well save yourself the shipping and throw in something small, like a waist pack. That's where it makes business sense...I bet more people buy stuff like that as add-ons than as the only item shipped.

I have enough faith in the integrity of the Jacks to believe that anything they sell will meet the standards of quality we have all come to expect from them. I doubt that they hammer out their stakes or braid their lines, but I don't hold it against them. The costs of marketing are not insignificant, and a broader offering of products could make marketing more efficient and effective. If offering associated products made by others makes their business more viable, I say go for it. I want them to be successful to the point that they continue making their down products. I prefer to do business with someone I know and trust, rather than sending my money to some guy in a suit with a hotline to a sweatshop in China. Besides, Pan makes his own clothes out of "brain tanned deer hide"...a hotline to China just wouldn't be his style.

    DTE, et al,

JRB has been a full out business from the start... Business license, bedding manufacturers license, employees and all associated monthly taxes, insurance etc. In the first year of operation we left behind the capacity of two guys and a sewing machine... JRB and Equinox have been partners in Excellance since that first year... This true manufacturing base of a cottage system and central shop in Virginia and a US manufacturer in PA under pins the on hand stocks that enable same day shipping of our volume operation.

With the exception of the Dri Ducks poncho, which comes from China thru Frogg Toggs, All JRB products are made in the USA... The majority are of our own design or include JRB additions or modifications...Tarps, compression sack, JGH/PC have long been private lable produced for JRB...Recently we have added several items to the JRB offering... While they are also private lable most have had design additions or reinforcements that contribute good value to the customer by JRB... For example, the JRB Travel Pillow has an extra female buckle that secures the roll-up strap under the pillow when in use... It is quite likely that some of these additional JRB features will soon find there way to other Equinox products as we spend weeks of R+D together each year.

    Ounces to Grams.
