Snr, That sounds like quite the UL hanging setup there. Once you've tried it out please detail your experience with the Argon 90.

ksb, It seems like the rule of thumb for 1.1 SL hammocks is that the stretch in the fabric becomes uncomfortable around 200#. Is your 1.0 Hyper D comfortable to sleep in at 190#?

There was some experimentation with Argon CS 90 for a hammock:

    https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ighlight=argon

I personally have no interest in making hammocks out of material the manufacturer doesn't recommend for hammocks. I've stopped using 1.1 oz single layer hammocks as well, moving up to a minimum of 1.6 oz. because of durability issues. It's a good thing you only hike 2.5 miles a day, 'cause I see a bailout in your future!

As previously stated, I don't intend to try this since the manufacturer doesn't recommend it, I'm just curious what others are experimenting with. It seems like as of now the basement weight for dependable, SL hammocks is 1.0 or 1.1.

Silvr, If my DIY 1.1 ever fails , you'll be the first to find out!

WOW. I can't help but notice you still have M50 DIY listed for your hammock. Based on your reply I'd be willing to guess this M50 SL is no longer in service. I've never worked with the stuff but based on my experience with the Argon 67, I'd imagine you'd rip right through it at 200#.

Nah it lasted a good year. And thanks, I'm sporting a hefty Ned hk2001 model now. It's like 30 ounces more but waaaaay more comfy.
