I believe there are a couple close up shots that show the sewed webbing attachments that capture the tip of the trekking pole on one side, & the handle on the other.
They are connected to the hammock by loops of heavy shock cord.
The attachment points on the hammock it's self are webbing daisy chains sewn to the hemmed edge.
This type of spreader bars are under far less stress than those on a bridge hammock, because the "gathered end type" hammock is supporting the weight.
This type spreader bar does something like you would do if (while laying in the hammock) you reached up & grabbed the hammock sides, above your head, & "stretched" the top of the hammock open.
That, along w/ the more narrow hammock, gives a very open view of your surroundings, but is still very stable.
