Do you need to use tree straps or something other than what come with the HH? I have been reading about the different methods and noticed most folks here use some type of straps.
Since I have the Hennessy Hammock I was wondering if I need to purchase any. If so what type are recommended the most?

The only reason to use straps with the HH is to avoid the HH rope lashing. If you don't mind that process you are fine staying with the stock ropes. I persoanlly find the strap/ring buckle to be more in keeping with the preferences. I find them easier to adjust. But I used the stock ropes for some time before I changed over.

Straps are easy and don't damage the trees.

As long as the tree has some protection and is not being cut by rope, use any suspension you find works for you. The straps/rings on the Blackbird make me much happier than did the HH rope/strap suspension because adjusting is easier.
I used straps and ring buckeles (SRB), exactly like the ones under 3.3 ring buckes on a webbing from http://www.tothewoods.net/HammockCam...n.html#Ringson, for my Skeeter Beater Pro (SBPro) because the rope ones they gave me were too short and I was afraid of the rope damaging the trees. I upgraded to a Warbonnet Blackbird (WBBB) and it came with a very nice and small triangle ring suspension. I don't use my (SBPro) any more because I like my WBBB so much. But, I will use my SRB's off of my SBPro for a DIY hammock that I'm planning to make for times I don't want a bug net. I think SRB's are the way to go but, I haven't played with whoopie slings yet.Originally Posted by LosUno

Angrysparrow, I did get some but was just wondering about the different types. At least I think that is what they are. Came in the roll with the cover.
