Exclamation I goofed! Nicked my hammock!

So I was doing some hammock editing and I laid my ever so slightly open scissors on the material!
As I picked them up, THIS happened:

It's tiny. But now I'm super concerned that I've met a point of no return. But I thought... I have patches!

Sufficent? Or is my brand new DIY doomed already?

I immediately dispose of compromised hammocks. I just can't take the idea of being forced to go to ground by something I knew about before I ever went on my hike.

If it were me, I'd patch it up and see what happens. I'm cheap and replace only when forced to.

it depends where the cut is on the hammock if its under your bum it will take more stress than in a floppy part. :-)

And when I say see what happens, that would be in the backyard. Of course I wouldn't see what happens miles out into the woods. I also have hammocks all over my house, yard, etc. I would find somewhere for it if it does prove to hold up with the patch.

Geez...That ain't cool. I would just toss that one and start over. Don't wanna have the hammock fail on you.
    Is it hang time yet?

Yeah, I've decided to just turn it into another set of freezer flaps and sew me a new hammock tomorrow.

    Thanks for the input!

At least it wasn't unusable. Good thinking!
