Well ..... I ain't no moocher and don't need no handouts
I aim to bring something .... biscuits or Moon Pies.
Look forward to poking around my beloved gorge and swapping gorge tale. I have camped and backpacked in the gorge more than likely 20 or 30 time over my time spent in the Charlotte area. 4th grade until about 3 years of college and stuff.
Me and my Dad got to backpack down there together. Good memories.......

I'll tell you Shug ... I know whatcha mean ... my dad whose still with us but not able to hike the gorge any more ... took me there the first time. Took time he didn't have after standing on his feet all day in a factory working as an upholster. So the gorge has a lot of special meaning to me and sharing photos of my adventures with him and talking about the old trips. GOOD times for sure.

Sharing the gorge with friends is special stuff.

Looking forward to this trip more than anything!

OK OK I know ... it's a month and a half out ... but what can I say ... I'm pumped on this trip.

Sounds like we're going to have a group big breakfast that first morning. I'll be tickled to bring a huge mess of biscuits ... I'll get them in Morganton the morning of the first day (fresh as possible) and bring with me .. complete with jelly options and mustard!

Do we have a time that most of us will plan on meeting at the new Conley Cove trail head on Tuesday the 27th?

I'm ready to go rain or shine .. anything short of a hurricane or forest fire.

Guess we'll get an idea how many of us there'll be closer in.

Dang ... guess I am early on this ... oh well you think I'm bad now wait till about two weeks before!!!

OH and one more thing ... even if only one other person ends up going ... I'm there!

MAN!! This website has sooooo much information, but I found this thread about the gorge hang (thanks Michael & Ken for the heads-up). Oct. 27-29? If all goes well, I plan to be there also.

(Just got my first hammock (HHExplorerUL) a week or so ago, and I’m loving it!)
