    New hanger!

Hello all! New to this and already I am ready to sell my tent haha.
Picked up a used Speer hammock with bugnet. Unfortunately it is the velcro model.
Anybody ever convert over to a zip? Any input would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

First, Welcome to the Forums - and the wonderful world of Hammocking!

I've never used a Speer hammock, much less the velcro model, but it seems like any benefit from the conversion to a zipper might not be worth the effort. You might try using the hammock "as is" for a while and seeing how it works before tearing it apart. If you do decide to make the conversion, be sure to share your experience (and pics!). There might be other folks who have a velcro hammock sitting in the closet.

    Whatever you do... Happy Hanging!

Thanks guys. Did some research and found a resource to covert to a zip but I will give it a few hangs before any further investment.

I have a Speer hammock with the velcro for the bugnet, but also for the Snugfit UQ. I have pretty much packed the bugnet away, as I don't like it (very minimalist). I do however love the Snugfit that goes with it, and velcros right to the hammock. I think it is a 20* UQ, but I am a cold sleeper and don't think it may be as warm as all that. It is still in good condition though and works wonderfully. If you can get a snugfit from someone, all the better for you.
