    Hello, I am ScoutDadNC

I have been using a hammock for a couple of years. I have been getting some more equipment and building up my supplies. I love a hammock, much more comfortable than a tent. But when camping with the scouts, sometimes you have to go to the tent.

Just looking for information and help as needed.

There's enough information here for an information overload, new friend.

I always recommend a group hang for the best possible means of getting new information, seeing other alternatives, and getting to know like-minded folk. There's a great group of people up in NC and one group hang that I know of that happens annually in May (if memory serves me).
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.

We have the Uwharrie hang in a few weeks if you'd like to join us. Then you can tell people you're going to meet a bunch of strangers you met on the internet and you'll get strange looks. My wife gave me a look the first time I went to one anyways.

Welcome from the upstate of SC. I, too, recommend a group hang. Great way to meet fellow hangers and check out all the gear you read about.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!
