    Seven dollar Diy underquilt

Found this down blanket at Arc a month and a half ago or so was ten dollars went on half price day(Sat) so payed five dollars. Had a buddy of mine with a thread injector sew channels into it(thanks Andy). He used shoe strings for the cinched ends and I bought two eighteen feet strands of bungee cord for the suspension at Wally World .97 . Do I need an underquilt protector? Thoughts?

Good find. Try it out without an UQ protector and see how you like it. I don't personally use one, but then again I haven't tried one so I don't know what I'm missing.

An UQP is not necessary but would give you some additional warmth should the wind pick up.
Nice job on the DIY project.

    Nice job!

The UQP will help on windy days, or if you're a winter camper blowing snow which can build up on your UQ.
