    Mason line

Is that a good choice for tarp tie-outs?

Cheap, light, strong enough. But I find it tangled easily.
I THOUGHT GETTING OLDER WOULD TAKE MUCH LONGER.

I usually use a quick release truckers hitch. One pull...

Didnt think of that. I have a hennessey hex, and it has pockets on each corner to store the line. I dont want to have to untangle string, to set up my tarp, in the rain. Does it stretch?

I use it for other things a lot.
I was just wondering how it would work to be tied/untied at the same spot over and over.

I found Tarred Bankline (and not all Mason's Twine is made equal..) to be more durable but I haven't used it where the same spot was being retied repeatedly

Twisted Mason't line is strong enough but can get itself into kind of a mess. If you can find braided Mason's line it works better IMO.

My experience with mason's line has been that it becomes a tangled mess in no time at all. I use Zing It and put everything into pawn bags.

Braided mason line is a good choice for tarp tie outs for the money. It's dirt cheap, it's light, it is plenty strong enough for that application, and it comes in bright colors that help cut down on tripping over it.

It's not a great choice. Based on my experience and what I've picked up on the forum Dyneema tangles less (as pointed out), stretches a bit less, knots come out a little easier, it is a little lighter, it is stronger, it is MUCH easier to splice, and it is more resistant to water and deterioration. 1.75mm Dyneema (Zing-it, Lash-it) is a GREAT choice for tie-outs, but you pay through the nose for it comparatively.

Twisted mason line is not a good choice.

I wouldn't say it's a good choice, but it will work. Tarp gear wise... the lines were the last thing I bought. I made mason's line work for quite some time. It wasn't ideal, by any stretch of the imagination, but it did work.

Now everything in my setup uses Zing-It. You can find it for under $30 online. Well worth the investment. Odds are... You won't have to replace that line for years. I was replacing mason line almost every outting.
