oversized Rope for Structural Ridge Line?

I'm going to order some Amsteel from Dutchware....

In the meantime, I am camping this weekend.
I have some 6mm climbing accessory cord which is of course more than strong enough for the job.
I am making it adjustable for this trip.

Other than weight and bulk, is there a reason this is a bad idea?
I have lightweight lines strung up for Bugnet and inside the bugnet.

No reason other than the ones you mentioned. Overkill, heavy, bulky. Otherwise, it'll be just fabulous!

If one of my tree straps fails, I can Rappel down out of my Hammock.

Are the bugs still out in Tenn? The ENO doesn't really need a RL.

Not a ton of bugs out.
Still some spiders...I've had gnats buzzing me in the trees while hunting.

My use of the ridgeline is to work on getting a consistent hang that i like (semi-side sleeper).

Biggest problem I've had with bigger line, is getting it tight across longer expanses. That added weight just seemed to always create a dip in the center, no matter how tight I could get it by hand. I'm not very OCD, but I think that drove me nuts one day. I ended up using a branch for leverage or something. LOL.

    I'll keep that in mind.
I know that I don't need it to be tightwire tight.
So I will remember not to fixate on that too much when I set up.
