We have made it to Maryland and are at a rest stop. We have some pictures to share when we get a chance. What a great weekend!

We got home about an hour ago and got the cars unloaded and dirty clothes in the washer and dirty camp dishes in the dish washer. The rest of the gear can wait.

Great news....we raised $775 dollars for the raffle of which we ( the group ) agreed to contribute $50 towards Hotlip's Chuck Wagon Project as it will benefit our hang and others she attends and cooks for ( she and Kingsford are a cooking machine ). That left $725 that was given to the Friends of Merchants Mill Pond, far more than I thought we would raise. . The park worker seemed a bit flustered when we told him how much it was and he counted it out. Got a signed receipt for it and gave him my name & phone number along with HammockForums card that I save such occasions. So a big shout out to all the vendors who contributed to the raffle and to all of the hangers who attended and made the hang possible.

I will take my time and write my version of what happen and post it latter. As usual Unmighty started the trip report before we even left the park.

We had an unbelievable time! To the rest of the folks on HammockForums, you don't know what you missed! You won't find a nicer group of folks, and you definitely won't eat better than we did this weekend! A big thank to HotLips and Kingsford for keeping us fed all weekend, as well as the many others that pitched in to cook or with food! Also, thanks so much to Gunner and Terminator for putting this even together. It was well worth the 660 mile round trip! It was so much fun to hang with y'all! Now... Hopefully my newly acquired Southern accent wears off before I have to be in at work tomorrow morning...

I took a lot of pictures, so rather than upload them here, I'll link to the album I created on imgur.

Thank you all for great food and better company!

Finally, a big thank you to all (vendors and unaffiliated individuals alike) that donated items to the raffle. I was disappointed not to win either of the knives on the tables, but there's always next time! The quality, quantity, and variety of items donated was incredible!

Sounds like y'all had a great time, and congratulations on raising so much!

Just a note, I've heard of others getting into trouble for doing things like that (or mentioning HF in correspondence with parks and campgrounds) for it seeming like they were representing HF.
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.

This was a great experience for my first hang. I want to Thank Gunner for the warm welcome, help hanging my rig, and organization of the hang!! Hotlips, Corey, Stubbs, and everyone else that cooked. Everything was outstanding!! I will be learning, researching, asking more questions, and hanging more!!

Here is a link to my pictures, there's not a lot but I tried to take some creative ones.

Did not think of that so thanks for bringing it up as it was not my intention to do so but to promote the forum.

This was an amazing first Hang to go to! I really enjoyed the food, hanging and making new friends! Thanks to Hotlips and Kingsford and everyone else who cooked! I learned how to splice thanks to the Hammeck guys, so thanks for that little workshop! I want to thank all the vendors who donated, there was some really nice stuff and it was amazing to see such a warm and welcoming group! It was nice to meet everyone and Gunner76, thanks again for putting this on and all the hard work you put into it. It was an amazing time and I hope I get to go back soon!
