Ridgeline with continuous loop - larks head or loop

Hello - I just received a new hammock (gathered end) with a continuous loop through the channel - and it has a fixed ridgeline which was shipped rolled up rather than installed for what are now obvious reasons as it likely wouldn't have stayed put and is neater.

So in attaching I'm putting a descending ring on each continuous loop to attach whoopies which will also serve as a "terminus" of the continuous loop.

In attaching the ridgeline - which has two fixed loops on either end. I can see how to thread the ridgeline out the open end and loop it over the continuous loop - the question is do I just loop the fixed loop over the end of the continuous loop or make a small larks head over the end of the continuous loop? I've done a larks head but not sure if it makes a difference but the larks head seems slightly sturdier.

ok, your continuous loop has gone around the gathered end and you now have a tail hanging off the end where you plan to attach a Whoopie...take that tail, and thread it through the loop at the end of the structural ridgeline...tighten ridgeline up... attach whoopie to continuous loop.

What's the difference in a way using the structural ridgeline end loops before tighten the CL's or after?

I don't think there's a major difference other than the SRL in your second photo won't easily (unwantedly?) come off the CL like it would in the first photo.

The choices have to do with convenience if, for some reason, you'd want to remove that ridge line. Like how much do you want to take apart. If you larks head around (not through) the tail of the CL you can remove the RL without distrubing anything else. If you put the tail of the coninuous loop through the loop on the RL, then attach the rings, the loop on the CL might not be large enough to go over the ring if you wanted to remove the CL.

A person might want to remove the RL if they want to try different lengths. Or they make a new RL with added butterfly loops for hooking stuff on.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.
