Just set mine up this AM and I believe I'm going to like this. It's going to be a new experience moving from the UCR/SLS with it's 20+' span capability to looking for trees much closer together. Now I'll be looking at the same trees as everyone else.

why would you be limited in tree selection? or are you referring to minimum needed distance??

The UCR/SLS was over 30' of 7/64" amsteel and I could use trees that others couldn't but then my minimum was more than most others maximums. Here is the link if you're curious.https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...nother-UCR-SLS

It will be nice losing a bit more weight in the kit. Just checked the weight and it's almost the same! But then there are 4 shock cord tarp tensioners that weren't in my original UCR/SLS weight of 19.2 oz. They were necessary on the U/S just to maintain tension.

I did wonder what the 2nd hole was for. It occurred to me at some point putting the line through one hole, around the shank and out through the other hole, may have been experimented with.

Question, will the speed hook work with a bridge hammock such as the ridge runner?
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

The speed hook will not attach directly to the aluminum thing at the top of the apex. You will need to larkshead a small loop of amsteel to that and then hook onto the loop. But yes then it will work.

I did get rid of the back hole and I slightly opened up the hook. Also I added a 1/8 Speed Hook option.
