Been checking out the forum for a few days now. I've been researching and looking at hammock ultralight backpacking for the last few months. I've gone to a few REI sales and currently have this setup:
ENO singlenest hammock
ENO bug net
ENO pro rainfly
a couple of 1"x9' poly webbing straps
I think I paid a total of $115 for all of these items.
I've also been checking out the DIY forums to decide whether an UQ mod from an old sleeping back will be my next project. Lots of great info on here and I look forward to becoming a regular contributor to the boards.
Unfortunately there isn't any great hiking around Chicago, but I've found a few places to hang in the city in the short time I've had my setup.
So, in short, hello (hammock) world.
