HF is a Wealth of Knowledge

Though I am not new to backpacking or camping, I came here about a month ago completely clueless about hammocks. I have to say, it was a bit overwhelming at first. So many ways to achieve the same thing it took some time to sort it all out. I ordered my first hammock (the easy part) and while waiting for it to be made and delivered, I had to figure out how I was going to make it work once it arrived. By doing some research on past advice given in this forum and by reading a lot of new advice being given daily here on HF, I learned a ton.

I still have a lot to learn but I will tell you this:

When my hammock arrived, I was able to hang it without an issue as well as the tarp I purchased. With a few choice pieces from Dutchware (clips, stingerz, zing-it, etc...), my hammock (Dream Hammock) and tarp (Wilderness Logics) went up without an issue. I didn't need anything else and I didn't waste any money on the purchases that I made in advance thanks to the info here.

So ya'll keep giving all of us noobs advice, because it absolutely helps. THANKS!!!!!

Excellent news that your setup works without issue. There is a ton of good information to be gleaned here.

+1 on this, it helps to be able to learn from others, if I had to learn all this stuff by myself, I'd never have any time to do anything!

Needing and wanting are two totally different things. I don't NEED anything else.

Now there is PLENTY that I want!
