"Jerry Chair" and "Just Jeff Gear Hammock" combo - is it possible?

I'm no DIY expert - in fact, I don't even own a thread injector.

BUT looking at multipurpose/similiar items, couldn't one design/make a pack cover/gear hammock that would include the necessary items so it can also be used as the infamous Jerry Chair?

One could use it for a pack cover, Jerry Chair at camp, and a Gear Hammock. To be totally waterproof, one would have to seal any required sewing.

Am I thinking too far outside of the box? Thoughts? Ideas?

Several people have made the combo you describe and more. A quick search on the forums should dig up a few examples if the makers themselves don't follow up with a post in this thread.

You're actually not thinking enough outside the box. You forgot rain kilt, ground cloth, hammock sling chair, and wash tub. I'm sure I'm also forgetting a use case or mod or two as well. I'm convinced that particular combo item could be a 10-in-1 tool if it was made right. We just haven't thought up all of the possibilities for it yet.
