Hello from Germany. Hanging is not so popular here but it has some advantages, especially in stealth camping. Tent overnighters are strictly prohibited in the woods, but hammock overnighters are not mentioned in the laws.
The dark side of the low popularity here is that all the good hammock related stuff come from oversea. There is no hammock forum in german language and Derek's great book "The ultimate hang" isn't translated yet.
I'm lucky to understand english. I found this forum and now I am here.

Welcome! Germany is a beautiful country.

If I owned an outdoor outfitter store/website in the EU I would stick up on Dutchware and pre-made warbonnet hammocks .... and probably items from most of the cottage industry vendors . I know the demand greatly outweighs the supply over there.
