Reintroduction of Yoda

My trail name is Yoda, used to be known as CrankyBear. Been on here for a good many years and used to contribute a lot.

I am or was an avid outdoorsman, loved to hike, camp and just anything that got me outdoors...more so loved loved loved hiking/backpacking. Sadly enough I have not been able to do that for quite some time now. In September of 2013 I was injured on the job (paramedic/firefighter) and on May of this year I had spinal surgery. This has been the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with, truly turned my world inside out. Also a little over two months ago my girlfriend and I split up. So I got a double dose of suck!

This has been a rough road for me and I've experienced quite a bit but nothing to this magnitude. I'm not sure what kind of person I will be when its all said n done..life sometimes changes the person we once were. I just hope that I will be able to do the things I used to be able to do, but only time will tell that tale.

I am thankful for a great many things, and grateful for my close friends and family that have stood by my side in the worst of times.

I am not sure how frequently I will be on here, I know a few have tried to check on me but my inbox was apparently full, which I had no clue about.

I hope to one day be able to see my HF friends again at a hang sometime soon. Take care everyone!

Welcome back from one of the new guys!

How we act in our worst times is the true measure of a man. It's easy to be good or a nice guy when things are going right in your life, or when it is business as usual. The fact that you're thinking about it bodes well for you.

That said, I hope you have a full and speedy recovery.

Glad you're back. I sometimes get questions I am sure are intended for you. It's kind of weird when someone insists that we have spoken about something and I have absolutely no clue what they are talking about. Hang in there, hope you feel better. Maybe we'll meet up at some future hang.

I was wondering if you would turn up again, its been a while.
I'm glad to see you post again, not sure if the back is up to hanging yet, but it is good to see you here on HF again, you have been missed.
