    Who sells synthetic insulation quilts?

A quick search didn't return too many results. It looks like there are tons of down quilts, and a few synthetic quilts that where nearly the same price for the same temperature rating. With sleeping bags you can generally find synthetic alternatives that are much cheaper than down. Am I missing something?

+1 on Zilla. Paul makes great equipment. I bought a jarbidge UQ during his last sale. It has performed beyond my expectations!

+1 on Arrowhead. I have a couple of Jarbidge underquilts that are really nice. Also, my son has a Prodigy topquilt from Englightned Equipment. It's a really nice piece of gear as well.

I have a DD HMmock under quilt. It has gotten me down to 24 degrees so far. Not too shabby. Probably going to sell it though because I'm making a DIY under quilt in a week or so.

I have Mountain Laurel Designs synthetic top quilt, a Spirit 38. These are made for ground dwellers, and so come with with two different sets of straps for securing to a sleeping pad, but they work just fine for the the more supernal. It's a well designed and constructed piece of gear.

For comparison, my Burrow 20 (with one ounce of overfill) weighs 550 grams in its stuff sack, while the Spirit 38 weighs 499 grams. Such is the difference between down and ClimaSheild Apex.

I use both down and synthetic TQs and UQs. For car camping when weight and space is not an issue I will take my synthetic. When backpacking I take my down as it compress more and weights less.

You appear to be comparing a quilt rated to 20 degrees to one rated for 38 degrees.

Yes - my point was that they are close to the same weight, but you get about 20 degrees more out of the down.
