    Nylon vs Poly webbing?

When looking at suspension, will 3,000 lb tubular nylon webbing be any different than regular 1500lb poly webbing?

Will the nylon webbing work in a cinch buckle system?

Yes. However depending on the tightness of the nylon weave you will get some stretch when wet. Less so with polyester.

I have the REI Climb spec (tubular) webbing and some 1500lb poly from Dutch. The tubular stretches noticeably more than the poly. I have not tried it in the cinch buckles because it is a lot thicker than the poly webbing.

I guess that for the cinch buckle suspension, the stretch from the tubular would be too much. It is also bulkier. The tubular is find for tree straps if you are going to be stopping the webbing near the tree. I do use it for my general use hammock that I hang for showing people or for the kids to play in - I think the stretch is fine for that application and may even be beneficial.

OK, I am going to see if the tubular works in the cinch buckles...

It fits just fine. I have not hung from it but just pulling on it with my hands it did not slip. Still not sure that I would use that for sleeping though, unless the trees were really close to the ends of the hammock.

I had a thread on Tubular webbing a couple days ago.
I use it a lot for non hammock purposes....hunting and tree climbing

Just a theory but I think a lot of the 'stretch' is just the tubular webbing getting compressed under a load.
    It's 'squishier'.

Works fine in cinch buckles. But it is quite heavy and it stretched enough that my but was on the ground by 2 a.m. Replaced it with poly.

Ok....I just got my Dutchware tree huggers.
    LIGHT is an understatement.

Forget buying webbing at REI and tying knots.
Sewn loop Huggers like Dutchware sells do the job, pack down to at least half the size and in some cases half the weight
