Hello from sunny San Diego, CA

    Hello HF!

About two and a half years ago, I got a sweet deal on a used ENO hammock. Ever since then, I haven't spent a night outdoors on the ground. After learning the basics of hanging the hard way (a few cold nights, and a few crampy calf muscles), I finally got my ENO tuned up where I wanted it.

Recently I decided to "upgrade" my setup, and in doing tons of research, I kept ending up on this forum. I figured I better officially join the group and get in on the discussions.

I feel like I've spent many hours soaking up all the good info here, and I haven't even scratched the surface yet. Many thanks to the seasoned hangers who take the time posting and answering questions.

Thanks DM. I've seen a few threads about SoCal meetups. Looking forward to joining the crowd.

    Hey Woodie, welcome from OC.
There should be another SoCal hang early 2015.
    Probably March.

    Welcome from Philly.
When I was a kid the only time we were in the house was to eat and sleep.

Welcome from PA. As someone who also started with an ENO, I would definitely check out Dutch's hammock blanks if looking for an easy, affordable upgrade. An 11 foot HyperD is what I'm using now and it's way roomier. Something about that fabric - get in and you just slide right into that sweet spot every time. I like it even better than my Blackbird. Best of luck and let the obsession begin!
